Struggling with dry, burning, or irritated eyes? 👁️✨
If artificial tears aren’t cutting it, the problem might actually be blocked oil glands in your eyelids—a condition known as Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD).
Dr. Sanchez explains how OptiLight by Lumenis targets the root cause of dry eye, not just the symptoms! 💡
✨ How it works:
Uses gentle pulses of light to reduce inflammation around the eyes
Helps your oil glands work naturally again
Quick, comfortable, and non-invasive
Tired of constant eye irritation? Drop a comment or send us a DM to schedule your dry eye evaluation! 📲✨

🎬 Welcome to Episode 1 of Friday Fun Facts with Windsor Eye Care! 👁️✨
Ever catch yourself staring at your phone or computer screen and realized your eyes feel tired, scratchy, or totally exhausted? You’re not alone!
Normally, we blink 15 to 20 times a minute. But when reading or looking at digital screens, our blink rate drops by over 50%! This causes incomplete blinks and dry patches on the cornea.
Dr. Sanchez’s Pro Tip: Don’t forget the 20-20-20 rule—every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds to give your eyes a break! ⏱️💧

💧👁️ Dry eye is more complex than you might think.

Do your eyes feel dry, gritty, watery, burning, or tired? 😣 You’re not alone! Dry eye isn’t always caused by a lack of tears. It can happen when your eyes don’t produce enough tears, your tears evaporate too quickly, or both.

✨ The most common cause is Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). This happens when the tiny oil glands along your eyelids become blocked. These glands produce the protective oil layer of your tears, helping keep your eyes comfortable and preventing tears from evaporating too quickly. When they aren’t working properly, your tear film becomes unstable, leading to irritation and discomfort.

Other factors that can contribute to dry eye include:
🩺 Aging
🌸 Hormonal changes
🧬 Autoimmune conditions
👁️ Previous eye surgery, such as LASIK
🥽 Contact lens wear
💻 Prolonged screen time
🌬️ Dry, windy, or smoky environments

💙 The good news? Identifying the underlying cause is the first step toward finding the right treatment. Because dry eye isn’t the same for everyone, a comprehensive evaluation can help determine what’s causing your symptoms and which treatment options may provide the most relief.

📅 If dry, irritated eyes are affecting your daily life, schedule an appointment with our team to find out what’s behind your symptoms and get on the path to lasting relief.

Swimming is great for summer fun, but it can be tough on the eyes. Chlorine can cause dryness and irritation, and natural water can expose the eyes to bacteria. If your child wears contacts, it’s important to remove them before swimming. Water and contact lenses don’t mix. Goggles and artificial tears after swimming can go a long way in keeping eyes healthy and comfortable.
