Your fascia adapts to whatever you do most.
Sit hunched at a desk for 8 hours a day? Your fascia adapts to that position and starts holding you there.
Look down at your phone for hours? Your fascia shortens along the front of your neck and chest to match.
The good news: it also adapts the other way.
Move consistently, hydrate well, stretch slowly and hold longer than 90 seconds, and give your body the variety it needs and your fascia responds. Over time, the tissue becomes more pliable, more organized, and more capable of supporting the way you actually want to move.
Simple places to start:
Drink more water than you think you need.
Take a 20-minute walk every day.
When you stretch, slow down and stay there.
