Tie brings a meaningful personal connection to our mission and a passion for supporting individuals and families through challenging times. Read below to hear Tie’s story and why she is excited to serve as a CSC Atlanta board member.
“Cancer has touched my family in a way that I will never forget. Losing my aunt to breast cancer gave me a firsthand understanding of how deeply a cancer diagnosis affects not only the person battling the disease, but everyone who loves and cares for them. I remember the uncertainty, the emotions, and the desire to be able to do more and to have the right support, resources, and someone to help guide you through the moments when there are simply no words. As an HR leader, my career has centered on supporting people, strengthening communities, and helping families access the resources and guidance they need during challenging times. I understand the importance of meeting people where they are, listening with empathy, and connecting them to meaningful support. Cancer Support Community Atlanta provides vital resources and programs that address the emotional, social, and practical needs of people impacted by cancer, including patients, caregivers, and loved ones. My prayer is that every person affected by cancer knows that they do not have to walk this journey alone and can find a supportive community like CSC that helps them navigate the journey with greater strength, hope, and connection.”
