We’re excited to announce that Dr. Alison Cernich of Shriners Children’s Research Institute will be a featured speaker at the 15th Annual Southeastern Pediatric Research Conference on August 28 at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta!

Dr. Cernich will share the vision for Shriners Children’s Research Institute, highlighting its research priorities, future direction, and commitment to improving outcomes for children.

This year’s conference, themed “Bench to Bedside and Beyond: Risk Factors and Intervention Strategies in Childhood Disease and Injury,” will bring together pediatric researchers, clinicians, pediatricians, and healthcare providers to explore cutting-edge research and its impact on pediatric care.

🎉 Congratulations to Sriharsha Ramaraju on receiving a $438,349 NIH grant!

Sriharsha has been awarded funding from the National Institutes of Health for his project, “Integrating Microstructural Growth Models with Preclinical Data to Advance Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Patch Repair.”

The research tackles an important challenge in caring for newborns with congenital diaphragmatic hernias (CDH): understanding how mesh patches used for surgical repair perform as children grow.

By bringing together data from animal studies, laboratory experiments, and human tissue samples, the project aims to develop computational models that can help explain why current patches fail and support the selection of better materials before surgery.

We’re proud to celebrate this achievement and the potential impact this work could have on the future of pediatric surgical care. Congratulations, Sriharsha! 👏

Seed-stage startups in paediatric and maternal health, this is an exciting opportunity to get in front of mission-aligned investors.

The Second Paediatric and Maternal Health Investment Forum will take place on September 17, 2026, in Helsinki, Finland. Up to six finalist companies will be selected to pitch their projects and participate in curated 1-to-1 meetings with investors.

The Forum is becoming a key European meeting point for investment, innovation, and impact in child and maternal health, helping promising startups grow solutions that respond to unmet clinical needs and improve outcomes for children and families.
