That's why our commitment to caregiver development goes well beyond our own team. We provide training and professional development to caregivers at outside communities and facilities throughout Metro Atlanta.

This week, we're highlighting Masterful Moments, CaraVita's own memory care training program, recognized by the Alzheimer's Association for successfully completing curriculum review and incorporating its evidence-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations across five areas: Alzheimer's and dementia, person-centered care, assessment and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication.

This staff from Wesley Wood's Viridian Towers completed their training last month, led by CaraVita's own Beth Cayce and Jesica Alperin!

Because when caregivers everywhere are better trained, Roswell and Metro Atlanta become better places to live, age, and work. 💙

That's how many Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease right now. It's the only top-10 cause of death in this country that we can't prevent, can't cure, and can't significantly slow.

Behind that number is a daughter who just got the call. A husband learning to be a caregiver in his 70s. A grandmother who knows something is wrong but can't quite say what. A family figuring out how to keep going.

💜 June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month.

Before CaraVita was a home care agency, it was a granddaughter sitting with her grandmother — trying to do the right thing, often not knowing what the right thing was.

Our founder, Beth Cayce, has talked openly about caring for her grandmother through dementia. About the moments she got right. About the ones she wishes she'd handled differently. About how much she would have given for someone to walk in the door and say, "I've done this before. Let me help."

That wish became CaraVita.

27 years later, that's still the mission — that no family caring for a loved one with dementia has to do it alone, or unequipped. Just families helping families, one home at a time.
