In a new WABE article examining PTSD, military sexual trauma and women veterans’ health, Dr. Liza Zwiebach, EHVP Clinical Director, explains why support after trauma matters.

“Social support is critical,” Dr. Zwiebach says, noting that survivors of military sexual trauma may instead experience a lack of support or even victim-blaming, factors that can increase the risk of developing PTSD.

At EHVP, we understand experiences like military sexual trauma can have lasting effects on mental health. Our team provides confidential, evidence-based treatment for PTSD, military sexual trauma, anxiety, depression and other invisible wounds.

Treatment works, and support is available.

Posttraumatic stress disorder or PTSD is linked to increased chances for maternal health complications.
