Army veteran LaQuista knows how difficult it can be to transition from military to civilian life and how important it is to ask for help.

"I struggled with reintegration after returning from my second deployment to Iraq. I lost several battle buddies to su***de and experienced some personal traumatic events. I was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, and depression and I knew I needed help so that I could be the best version of myself for my family."

Today, LaQuista shares a message of hope for all veterans and service members who may be affected by invisible wounds. Treatment works, and Emory Healthcare Veterans Program is here to help.

“I remember watching my kids play, and feeling nothing. It should have been a moment of joy, but it was just empty.”

Army veterans Sam and Kate served together and are now raising a family, but their personal struggles with PTSD made it difficult to stay present in the moments that mattered most. Days often ended feeling defeated, wanting to show up differently for their children but not knowing how.

Through the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program, they found a path to healing. Today, they’ve rediscovered joy and now enjoy a life where they can be fully present with their family again.

Watch their story and see how two weeks can change everything:
