Ladies if you are interested!!

👶💦We are so excited to officially introduce the very first annual WORLD WATER BIRTH WEEK June 22–26!💦👶

Created as a global celebration that honors gentle, evidence-based waterbirth and the providers and families helping transform birth around the world.

For one powerful week, midwives, doulas, nurses, physicians, educators, and families across the globe will come together to celebrate the beauty, safety, and physiology of waterbirth.

Every day, families experience calmer, gentler births through the support of warm water and respectful care. Yet many people still have never seen what physiologic waterbirth can truly look like or understand the research supporting it.

Throughout the Week We’ll Share:
💧 Real waterbirth stories
💧 Evidence-based research
💧 Historic archival footage
💧 Provider spotlights from around the world
💧 Beautiful examples of gentle birth in action

World Waterbirth Day — June 25
As part of the celebration, June 25 has also been designated as World Waterbirth Day by Waterbirth Canada in honor of Barbara Harper’s lifelong contributions to waterbirth education and advocacy.
💙 Follow and tag for more information and campaign highlights.

From hospitals to homebirth settings, providers trained through Waterbirth International are helping families experience safer, more respectful, physiologic birth in communities worldwide.

World Water Birth Week is more than a celebration.
It is a reminder that birth can be calm. Birth can be gentle. Birth can be deeply human.

And we want YOU to be part of it.

Have a waterbirth story or photos to share?
Your experience could help educate providers and inspire families around the world.

there was a time they called childbirth the
“knock ‘em out, drag ‘em out” era. can you image ?

mothers weren’t given a choice.
they were drugged into twilight sleep
morphine to dull the pain.
scopolamine to erase the memory.

they were strapped into padded beds.
blindfolded. ears stuffed.
sometimes bound in straight-jacket-like shirts
so they wouldn’t move while giving birth.

the neighbors could hear them screaming.
and when it was over,
many mothers didn’t even remember if the baby was theirs.

this is the history we come from.
a history where women were silenced,
where control over our bodies was stripped away.

and yet, even then
when they woke to a baby in their arms,
their bodies still made milk.
still created the perfect food,
drop by drop, cell by cell,
as if to say:
“you took everything from me,
but you cannot take this.”

mama, never doubt the power you hold.
breastfeeding is resistance.
it is survival.
it is legacy.

share this to remind the world
how far we’ve come
and why we should never stop fighting for birth and breastfeeding freedom.

i’m a breastfeeding mama
thank you to my body for feeding my baby
even when my mind was falling apart.

for leaking through the night.
for aching, cracking, and still showing up.
for making milk from nothing but blood, bones, and love.

they told me it would be easy.
they told me it was natural.
but they never told me it would feel this heavy,
this relentless,
this holy.

my body didn’t fail me.
it carried me when i couldn’t carry myself.
it kept my baby alive.
and that will always be enough.

Another fantastic position to labor in is hands and knees. You can even tie a rebozo (traditional Mexican woven scarf used in birth, baby-wearing, and much more!) around your belly to help lift baby into the pelvis while you rock!

Having back labor (ugh!)? Being hands and knees can allow your partner or support folks to provide counter pressure and warm/cold compresses on your lower back for good relief.

Birth Pros, we have a whole teaching module on our platform to help you explain positions and comfort measures to your clients!
