Happy first day of school to all the kids, parents, and teachers headed back to school today! We hope the school year is full of growth, learning, and friendship.

Here at NCC, we are gearing up to restart Meditation Mondays a week from today! Please join us for guided meditation and the warmth of a welcoming community starting at 8:30 AM next Monday, August 10th!

For kids and parents gearing up to head back to school, summertime is winding down (or already over, for our friends at Drew!!) We took a pause on Meditation Mondays for the summer lull, but we will be back on Monday, August 10th and hope to see you there! Please mark your calendars and plan to join us Monday mornings starting August 10th for some dedicated time to go inward, practice presence, and cultivate compassion.

✨✨✨We at The Neighborhood Counseling Center are excited to announce that our newest therapist, Erin Burch, is accepting new clients, from children as young as age three (with their caregivers) to teenagers and adults. ✨✨✨

Erin is especially interested in supporting folks who are grappling with:

✔️ anxiety
✔️perfectionism
✔️trouble with self-esteem
✔️emotional dysregulation
✔️ holding healthy boundaries, and
✔️ finding balance amidst the demands of life.

Erin is a second-career therapist and was a professional dancer and dance teacher 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾prior to going back to school for counseling. She is deeply embodied, warm, creative, and wise. She has created a beautiful playroom in our office for play therapy with children 🤸🏾‍♀️🤸🏾‍♀️🤸🏾‍♀️and also has access to a more typical office for traditional talk therapy.

We are super excited to welcome Dr. LaVerne Collins to NCC on Friday May 8th for a continuing education workshop for therapists! Dr. Collins is a wonderful and engaging teacher.

As Dr. Collins shares: "Rather than focusing only on compliance with ethics codes, this training explores how ethical care unfolds where policy, culture, power, and human vulnerability intersect. If you’re a clinician who has ever felt that ethical decision-making is more complicated than the textbooks suggest, this conversation is for you."
