Some people have a way of making every room feel brighter. 💙

For more than 14 years, Cathy has been doing just that at Frazer Center.

Whether she’s singing down the hallway, greeting children with a smile, or helping a classroom find its rhythm, Cathy has a gift for making children feel safe, loved, and ready to learn. Her colleagues describe her as someone who can turn even the most challenging moments into opportunities for connection.

Ask Cathy what has kept her at Frazer Center for more than 14 years, and her answer is simple: “This is my professional home... my heart beats here.”

She believes children deserve respect, kindness, and adults who truly listen. When she trains new teachers, she reminds them that before anything else, children need to know they're seen, heard, and valued.

At the end of each day, Cathy often finds herself replaying the moments that made her smile. As she puts it, “The children feed my soul.”

Every child deserves to be welcomed with hope. 💚

For 26 years, Karimata has been one of the first people many Frazer Center families meet.

Known affectionately as our "baby whisperer," she has a remarkable gift for helping infants settle into the classroom and helping parents feel at ease as they leave their little ones in someone else's care. Her calm presence, steady encouragement, and genuine love for children help build trust from the very beginning.

Karimata’s belief in inclusion is deeply personal. As the parent of a child with a disability who attended Frazer Center, she knows the hopes and worries families carry through the door each day. That experience continues to shape the way she welcomes every child.

When asked what keeps her here after 26 years, Karimata talks about watching children grow—from their first weeks as infants to the day they leave her classroom talking, exploring, and ready for what's next. "I like to have an impact in their life," she says.

Thank you, Karimata, for your kindness, your steady presence, and the care you've shared with generations of children and families. Your hope has helped so many begin their journey at Frazer Center.

One of the things we enjoyed most about our first Yoga in the Gardens was seeing people take an hour to slow down, move, and enjoy the gardens together.

All summer, high school students from Trees Atlanta’s Youth Tree Team have been showing up in Frazer Forest—pulling invasive plants, building brush piles, and learning what it takes to care for a place like this.

Some came in already interested in environmental work. Others just needed a summer job. Either way, they leave with a clearer sense of how forests are restored. And why it matters.

Their work is part of a long-standing partnership with Trees Atlanta, who also lead monthly volunteer restoration days here on campus.

Creativity has a way of opening doors that words sometimes can't.

For nearly 20 years, Denise has been helping children discover those doors at Frazer Center.

An artist, poet, and longtime educator, Denise brings creativity into every part of the classroom. Whether it's painting, storytelling, music, or simply taking the time to connect one-on-one, she makes space for children to explore, create, and express themselves.

Her colleagues describe her as someone who meets each child where they are. Children light up when they see her because they know she'll listen, encourage them, and help them discover something new about themselves.

Recently, Denise noticed a child who was hesitant to participate in an art project. Instead of rushing her along, Denise encouraged her and gave her time and space to explore the paints—with brushes, with her hands—until the child became completely absorbed in the experience, painting with joy and confidence.

Moments like that have kept Denise inspired through nearly two decades at Frazer Center.

For 23 years, Gigi has helped children discover what they’re capable of. Today, she’s helping fellow educators do the same.

Today, we’re celebrating her well-earned promotion to Senior Lead Teacher & Administrative Support.

In her new role, Gigi is helping welcome new educators, coaching teachers as they grow in their roles, and sharing the knowledge she’s built over more than two decades in Frazer Center’s Child Development Program.

Over the years, she’s celebrated milestones big and small. Sometimes it’s helping a new teacher believe in themselves. Sometimes it’s celebrating a child taking their first independent steps after months of patient encouragement. Through it all, Gigi has remained focused on helping every child and every educator reach their potential.

Congratulations, Gigi, on this exciting new chapter! Thank you for the care, wisdom, and encouragement you’ve shared with children, families, and fellow educators over the years. We can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make in this new role.
