Happy GME Professionals Day!

Today we're celebrating the dedication of the professionals who help make residency and fellowship training possible—mentors, educators, program leaders, and everyone supporting the day-to-day work of graduate medical education. Thank you for investing in learners and delivering excellent care to our patients and community!

Take a moment and watch the video of our Kern AUCC Health Scholars Program in Bakersfield last month. The beautiful thing about video is you get to see and hear from the scholars themselves and the leaders who put this program together.

At the More in Common Alliance, we believe in homegrown solutions. KAHSP provides a structured path for aspiring physicians to study, train, and return to Kern County for residency at Bakersfield Memorial, ensuring care that reflects the communities we serve. Last month, we welcomed eight scholars to begin their journey at Bakersfield College, on to complete their Bachelor's degree at an AUCC school (Morehouse College, Spelman College, or Clark-Atlanta University), and then to Morehouse School of Medicine for their MD. We are excited about the future of these young scholars and for the health of Kern County when they return for residency and practice. Learn more and get involved.

Charting Journeys: Midpoint Resilience & Community Pipelines to Healthcare

From the refined discussions of our midpoint check at the beautiful Mountain City Club to inspiring future leaders at Howard High's "Tiger Talks," our medical students are redefining success.

Dr. Mukta Panda MD MACP FRCP-London, Regional Dean for Morehouse School of Medicine, observed, "Success isn't just milestones; it's building bridges of community resilience."

Special thanks to MSM student speaker Vonnetta Norfleet for her powerful words on "Tiger Resilience," addressing mental health and anxiety, as we continue building pipelines to healthcare. We are proud of our students' commitment and look forward to the road ahead.
