Polaris Spine and Neurosurgery Center was a sponsor at the 25th Annual Kids’ Chance Tennis Tournament on April 1st. Dr. Franklin competed and Dr. Sami took a lesson with a pro! 🎾

The tournament netted approximately $9,000 for the charity that provides scholarships to the children of Georgia’s workers who are fatally or seriously injured in a work related accident.
Polaris was proud to support this event and looks forward to next year!

The Polaris charity event benefited the State Bar of Georgia Lawyers Assistance Program and Dr. Raore’s Kisumu Neuroscience Initiative, part of the Giving Back To Kenya organization. Max Steuer, MD, FAANS - Has Practiced neurosurgery in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area for 30 years. He has consistently been recognized as one of the premiere neurosurgeons in Atlanta. The quality of his work and dedication to his craft has allowed him to continue to practice independently for 30 years. Part of the nucleus of what was then Peachtree Neurosurgery, now Polaris, Dr. Steuer continues to be a pillar of Atlanta’s neurosurgery community. His reputation has allowed him to recruit outstanding physicians to his practice in order to continue to provide state of the art neurosurgery care now, and in the future.

Polaris Spine and Neurosurgery is a collaborative group of neurosurgeons and physiatrists working together. Here Dr. Mairaj Sami and Dr. Robert Ayer perform lumbar fusion on a patient with a previous laminectomy. Using the OLLIF, or trans- kambin technique, they are able to get and excellent fusion through small incisions and avoid the previous surgery site, allowing for indirect decompression of the lumbar foramen and stabilization of the spine.
