Georgia Nurses Association leadership continues to bring the voice of nursing into important conversations across healthcare, advocacy, research, and practice.

Last week, GNA President Joy King, PhD(c), DNP, MBA, APRN, NP-C, FAIHM, joined GNA Senior Director of Government Affairs Tim Davis at the Georgia House of Representatives’ Blue-Ribbon Study Committee on Community Health & Healthcare Oversight. Mr. Davis presented “Georgia’s Healthcare Future Runs Through Nursing,” offering a nursing workforce perspective on issues including workforce development, staffing, APRN utilization, rural access to care, and opportunities to strengthen Georgia’s healthcare system.

Later that week, Dr. King delivered the opening keynote at Emory Healthcare’s Research & Evidence-Based Practice Conference, Unity in Inquiry: Connecting Care Through Discovery. Her presentation, “What If? From Curiosity to Courageous Change,” challenged healthcare professionals to question longstanding practices, remain curious, and use evidence to drive meaningful change.

From policy discussions to professional education, GNA remains committed to ensuring that nurses have a meaningful voice in the conversations shaping healthcare across Georgia.
