Royce J. Gottschalk

Armington, IL -- Royce J. Gottschalk, 86, of Armington, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale.

Funeral Services for Royce will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln, IL, with Mr. Michael Mallick officiating.

Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service.

Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in rural Stanford, IL.

Royce Jacob Gottschalk was born on May 29,1940 in Normal, Illinois, the son of Roy Jacob and Zella Glenn Gottschalk. He was united in marriage to Mary E. Lay on December 16, 1962 at Christ Lutheran Church in Normal. She survives.

Also surviving are his children: Kristy (Brad) Wade of McLean, Robin (Mike) Drawhon of Deer Creek, and Tim (Holly) Gottschalk of Armington; grandchildren: Amy (Andy) Behrens of McLean, Jacob (Tiffany) Wade of Heyworth, Zack (Jessica) Drawhon of Tremont, Brandon (Mallory) Drawhon of Heyworth, Bryson (Jenna) Gottschalk of Minier, Brock Gottschalk of Armington, Brynlee (fiance Henry Kaufman) Gottschalk of Morton; twelve great-grandchildren; and his siblings: Rachel (Jim) Wilson of Danvers and Crystal (Tom) Kerwin of St. Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandson, Gabriel Behrens.

Royce graduated from Stanford High School in 1958. He was a lifetime farmer in the Armington, Minier, and Stanford area. He received the FFA American Farmer Degree in October of 1959. He served in the Army National Guard in Bloomington from 1959 - 1965. He is a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Andrew Ewing Nahm

McComb, MS -- Andrew Ewing Nahm, 66, passed away after a brief illness on June 13, 2026, in McComb, Mississippi.

Born on April 5, 1960, in Greeley, Colorado, Andrew was the son of Mary Jane Connell Nahm. He was raised in Natchitoches, Louisiana, where he developed the gracious southern hospitality that would define him throughout his life. As a child, he enjoyed spending his summers with his extended family on their farms in central Illinois, where he formed lifelong memories and family connections that remained important to him throughout his life.

Andrew graduated from Louisiana State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design. After graduation, he began his professional career in New York City, where he worked as an interior designer for Laura Ashley and contributed to a variety of beautiful residential and commercial projects. He later returned to New Orleans, building a successful career as an interior designer, creating elegant spaces that reflected his creativity, refined eye, and appreciation for beauty.

Andrew was a bon vivant with a gift for entertaining. He delighted in opening his home to family and friends. His annual Mardi Gras Thoth Parade brunch became a cherished tradition, bringing friends together every Mardi Gras Sunday for a day filled with laughter, food, and lavish celebration.

He had a lifelong love for animals, especially his beloved dog, Boone, who was his faithful companion.

Andrew will be remembered for his vibrant personality, colorful stories, creative spirit, and enduring friendships. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Andrew was preceded in death by his mother, his beloved second “mother”, Loneta “Tee” Graves, and his partner Alan Fetzer.

He will be laid to rest at McLean Cemetery in McLean, Illinois, during a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be held August 15, 2026, at the Columns Hotel from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in New Orleans. We invite Andrew’s friends and family to join us there for a drink and Jazz celebration to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage those who knew Andrew to celebrate his memory by gathering with friends, sharing a meal, extending hospitality to others, or making a donation to an animal rescue organization in honor of his lifelong love of pets.

Greg A. Rutherford

McLean, IL – Greg A. Rutherford, 62, of McLean, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Services for Greg will be held at Ebenezer Methodist Church in rural McLean. Visitation will be on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, led by Rev. Deborah J. Johnston and Mr. Tony Billingsley. Burial will then take place at Funks Grove Cemetery in rural McLean. Cremation Rites have been accorded.

Greg A. Rutherford was born, April 3, 1964, in Bloomington, the son of James L. and Arlene O. Rahe Rutherford. He was united in marriage to Rondy Ann Coomer on October 28, 1989.

Greg is survived by his wife, Rondy; their children: Jakeob (Lynsey) Rutherford and Jessica (Logan) Belgrave; two grandchildren: Murphy and Foster; his mother, Arlene; one brother, Shane (Marlene) Rutherford, and one nephew, Leighton Rutherford.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Greg was a 1982 graduate of Olympia High School. He worked for the City of McLean for nearly 37 years in the water and street works department. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, guns, archery, and being outdoors, and spending time with his family. Greg was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church. He had a servant’s heart and never backed down from a challenge.

Anna Jean Ballinger Winn

Normal – Anna Jean Ballinger Winn, 96, of Normal, formerly of Atlanta, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at The Loft Rehabilitation & Nursing of Normal.

Services will be held at the Atlanta Christian Church in Atlanta, IL, on Monday, July 20, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Services starting at 11:00 a.m. led by Mr. Brent Salm. Burial will follow at the Atlanta Cemetery.

Anna Jean Jones was born November 16, 1929, in Warnick County, Indiana, the daughter of Ernest H. and Eva M. Perigo Jones. She was married to Lowell Ballinger from December 21, 1947, until his death on March 31, 1996. She then married Elwin Ballinger on June 10, 2001. He preceded Anna Jean in death on November 11, 2002. Anna Jean was then united in marriage to Don Winn on June 18, 2005, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2019.

Anna Jean is survived by five children: Lloyd Mitchell (Laurie) Ballinger, Kathleen (David) McFadden, Nancy (Wesley) Melton, Bryan (Geraldine) Ballinger, and Russell (Jeana) Ballinger; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ballinger; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, David Ballinger; and seven grandchildren: Tony, Mindi, Tina, Makena, Michael, Brian, and Geoff, in addition to three husbands, five brothers, three sisters, and her parents.

Anna Jean had worked at Brokaw, Mennonite, and St. Joseph hospitals, along with the Atlanta Library and Atlanta Grade School. She was a member of College Park Christian Church, volunteer at the David Davis Mansion, and Hands All Around Quilt Guild of Bloomington-Normal.

Gregg Wallner

Atlanta – Gregg Wallner, 78, of Lincoln, formerly of Atlanta, passed away at Springfield Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Graveside Services for Gregg will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Atlanta Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. with Mr. Tony Billingsley officiating.

Gregg Wallner was born May 20, 1948, in Springfield, the son of O. Fred and Lorretta M. Jenkins Wallner. He was united in marriage to Ellen McIntosh on December 14, 1991. She preceded Gregg in death on June 29, 2002.

Gregg is survived by five children: Gina Barnes, Shawna (David) Fleshman, Cheryl (Charles) Horath, Joshua Aikman, and James (Kellie) Aikman; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Trudy (Richard) Theel and Loretta (Gene) Dodd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Ronald Wallner, and one sister, Marla Shipp.

Gregg was a 1966 graduate of Girard High School. Over the years he had worked as an OTR Driver, and in construction and maintenance for HomeWay Homes.

He found joy in the simple things in life – tending his garden, reading a good book, and watching classic Westerns. A gifted craftsman, he loved working with leather and woodworking of every kind. He also enjoyed shooting sports and was always open to new hobbies and adventures. His curiosity, skill, and appreciation for traditional pastimes brought happiness to those who knew him.

Atlanta, IL – Graveside memorial services for Paul “Junior” Van Hoorn and Linda Van Hoorn have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the McLean Cemetery.

A Celebration of both Linda and Paul’s lives will follow at the McLean Community Hall hosted by their daughters, Kelly (Tim) Lamkin and Cheryl (Mike Simpson) Root.

Linda R. Van Hoorn, 84, of Atlanta, passed away at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Linda R. Sullivan was born September 22, 1941, in Atlanta, the daughter of Raymond H. and Irma Hafley Sullivan. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Paul “Junior” Van Hoorn, Jr. on October 16, 1960.

Paul "Junior" Van Hoorn, Jr., 86, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in his home. Paul (or Junior as many knew him) was born on September 16, 1939, to Paul and Annetta Van Hoorn, Sr.

Paul and Linda spent many blessed years together raising their family and watching it grow. Paul and Linda loved their country space and time together with their family enjoying it. They were devoted and loving parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents who enjoyed being called Grandpa and Grandma Farm.

Wilbur L. Garrett

McLean, IL -- Wilbur L. Garrett, 85, of McLean, IL, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

He was born on July 28, 1940, in Casey, IL, to Eddie and Marie Garrett. He had three brothers, Don, Riley, and Harry, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Bryon (Pat) Garrett, and three daughters, Timi Czarnecki, Dana (Brad) Benedetti, and Krista (Nick) Franzen, as well as 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In Wilbur's younger years he liked swimming, water skiing, and dancing, among other things. Throughout his life, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and playing games around the table. His favorite place at home became his front porch, where he watched wildlife and chatted with visitors. He loved talking and laughing with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. We will miss his humor and family stories.

We are sad that his time here with us is over, but we know this separation is temporary. Our shared faith in Jesus Christ gives us great comfort in knowing we will see him again.

Linda R. Van Hoorn

Atlanta – Linda R. Van Hoorn, 84, of Atlanta, passed away at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside Services for Linda and “Junior” will be held at a later date, followed by a celebration of their lives.

Linda R. Sullivan was born September 22, 1941, in Atlanta, the daughter of Raymond H. and Irma Hafley Sullivan. She was united in marriage to Paul “Junior” Van Hoorn, Jr. on October 16, 1960. He preceded Linda in death on November 15, 2025.

Linda is survived by two daughters: Kelly (Tim) Lamkin and Cheryl (Mike Simpson) Root, seven grandchildren: Tim (Erin) Lamkin, Jr., Andy (Bernice) Lamkin, Alex (Melissa) Lamkin, Brittney (Will) Pries, Tyler Cook, Brandon (Alyssa) Root, Desiree (Tyler) Pitsch; and great-grandchildren: Addie, Braden, Brynn, Ella, Sophie, Camryn, Christian, Jacob, Jack, Cecilia, Sean, ShaeLynn, Ryatt, and Wes; and one brother, David.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, Buddy, and one grandson, Cameron Cook.

Linda was a graduate of Atlanta High School. She retired from State Farm Insurance after 38 years, most of which was spent working as an Agency Compensation Specialist. She was a member of Toastmasters International, and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and tending to her hummingbirds. Linda absolutely adored her grandchildren and being called “Grandma on the Farm.”

Jimmie H. Barr, Sr.

Waynesville -- Jimmie H. Barr, 82, of Waynesville, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Graveside Services for Mr. Barr will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville with grandson Zach Craig officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by the Waynesville American Legion Post #1189.

No visitation is scheduled. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
A Celebration of Jimmie’s Life will be held at the Waynesville American Legion Post #1189 immediately following the graveside services with a beer cheer scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Jimmie served in the United States Marines Corp., United States Army, and the Illinois National Guard. He was employed at Contractor's Ready Mix as a driver and later worked at the McLean Cemetery for 15 years, along with working for various farmers in the McLean and Waynesville area.

Jimmie H. Barr was born on October 17, 1943, in Bloomington, the son of Clifford R. And Mandy Delmar Osborne Barr. He was united in marriage to Susan Diana Rich on July 11, 1992. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2025.

Surviving are his children: Tina Barr, Jimmie (Leigh) Barr, Jr., John (Alisha) Barr, Kimberly (David) West, Tammy Bode, and Misty Gordon; twenty grandchildren: Rondy Craig, Zachary Craig, Cody Ruff, Abbi Bode, Skyler Grill, Josh Gordon, Ashton Griffin, Brody Snyder, Aaron Sparks, Zach Barr, Landen Barr, Ryker Barr, Carly Barr, Isaiah Barr, Keagan Barr, Alex Barr, Phillip Barr, Kieryn Snyder, Kamdyn Snyder, and Olivia Sue Barr; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Atlanta – Bunny Laymon, 81, of Atlanta, passed away at her home on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Services for Bunny will be held at the Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Visitation will begin at noon, followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Doug Maris will officiate. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lincoln.

Bunny Hutchcraft was born April 1, 1945, the daughter of Arthur C. and Ruth L. Longridge Hutchcraft, Sr. She was united in marriage to Gary Doug Laymon on July 10, 1989. He survives.

Bunny is also survived by her children: Duane Swarts, TJ (Rachel) Swarts, Chuck (Larisa) Demling, and Dawn (Bob) Gorman; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four siblings: Sandra Jacobs, Trudy (Mike) Coleman, Arthur “Coy” (Anne) Hutchcraft, Jr., and Gregg (Kathy) Hutchcraft.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Bunny had worked at Lincoln Chrysler Dodge Lincoln as the office manager. She enjoyed fishing, flowers, and gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
