Happy National Speech-Language-Hearing Month! 💙
This month, we’re celebrating the heart behind what we do by asking our SLPs one simple question: “I love being an SLP because…”
Their answers were thoughtful, inspiring, and a beautiful reminder of why this field matters so much. Here are just a few responses from our team:
• "every tiny milestone deserves giant celebrations!"
• “I get to help children build confidence in who they are by building their speech, language, and literacy skills.”
• “What could be a better job?? We get to help kids communicate, boost their confidence and watch their progress and growth all while playing!”
• “I love that no two children are alike, and I’m grateful to play a role in supporting their communication!”
• “it is a field with so many meaningful and diverse ways to help people. After working across multiple settings, including public schools, hospitals, and other areas of the field, I have come to deeply appreciate the impact I can make in a child’s life through the collaborative philosophy we embrace at SLA. I especially value our model of comprehensive assessment, which allows us to truly understand each child’s unique profile and tailor intervention to their individual strengths and needs. Seeing the growth our students make, and hearing from families, even years later, about how profoundly we helped their child is incredibly rewarding and reinforces why I am so passionate about this work.”
• " I love helping people communicate and become their best self whether it’s a kid's first words, a child’s confidence, or helping someone with school. It’s rewarding to change people’s lives!
To all of the speech-language pathologists making a difference every day — thank you for the care, patience, creativity and encouragement you bring to your clients and families. We are so proud of our team! 💬🩵
