What systems have you implemented in your household that work for keeping the peace?

Here at home, we base our interactions on autonomy. So, my child has an equal voice in his own life. I listen to his wants and needs and dreams for himself. When I can, I let him make decisions. Sometimes it can be that we have to do something, but he gets to choose when we go (like grocery shopping). Giving him control over his own body is something that's created trust and peace.

And if I insist on something, he knows it's really important, and he fights it a lot less, if at all.
