As a therapist, mom, and caregiver these quotes resonate. I have three niches: perinatal mental health (which includes pmdd, infertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, infant death, birth trauma, NICU support, etc), caregiving and older adults, and depression and grief. While clients don’t have to be in a specific category, those are my specializations. I have both professional and personal experience in each category. This time of year can be complicated and full of mixed emotions. Remember, you are not alone and deserve to tell your story!

I love this quote. It’s so true- go outside and get some fresh air! I also have a .bird.buddy and it captured a blue bird on the feeder. It reminded me that the world is full of amazing things, even in darkness, there is light. I hope anyone reading this knows your story is worth telling and it’s valid- no matter how you feel. Go outside and remember you have meaning in the world.

I received a message from a client who is a caregiver this weekend. The person they cared for passed away peacefully surrounded my love. My client is distraught even though they knew this day was coming. These pictures were taken around the same time the loved one passed. I’d like to believe our loved ones can be found in beautiful things around us- the world keeps moving even when your world stops. This goes out to all the caregivers and grieving- you are not alone. I invite you to remember the sunlight, earth, flowers, water, air- it is all apart of your story and your story matters. Grief is complicated but there is a lot of light in spite of it. Find the light. Remember the smiles and laughter. Remember to look up- the world is filled with amazing sights. And maybe, just maybe the moment we lose someone we love, a new chapter begins. There is no love without loss. I hope anyone reading this knows they matter and there is light in the darkness.

I don’t have alot of hobbies, but I LOVE birding. There is something special about birds 🦅 they represent freedom and confidence. The great blue heron is my favorite bird and there’s a lot of symbolism around the heron. It’s believed if you see a heron, good things are coming. They are peaceful creatures, one with the water, earth, and air. They might look like they are alone, but they use their environment to thrive and connect. I share this because a friend reminded me that birds don’t fear of a branch breaking, they have confidence in their wings. What brings you confidence? What brings you peace? What inspires you?
