We made the trek to visit Fjord Ferryman, the giant wooden troll located in Elk Horn! Did you know he’s over 20 feet tall? What a fun adventure! While in Elk Horn, we visited to Danish Museum and of course had to stop for a tenderloin from Larsen’s Pub!

Well, well, well… Elvis has entered the building!

The King of Rock ’n’ Roll paid a visit to the Health Center, and our residents were All Shook Up!

He sang. He danced. He visited. He made many memories.

A taste of the State Fair! Cheese curds, funnel cake fries, fried pickles, and fresh squeezed lemonade!…. Oh and did we mention butter sculptures? The votes are in, and we awarded our winners!

Tonight we officially “coated” our newest members of the Heritage House Guild with their red jackets! Please help us in welcoming them to our group of volunteers!

The Heritage House Guild is our volunteer group. These individuals put in countless hours helping with events, spending time with residents, and doing basically whatever they can to help around our community. We are better because of them! ❤️

We do a lot of special things for our residents, but this is one of our favorites each year - the Plowman Pond Party hosted by Darrin and Julie Plowman of Adair.

We didn't luck out with a sun shining day, but we made the absolute BEST of it! We golfed in the rain, fished in the rain, sat next to the fire and watched the rain... One of those days that just fills your cup.

Before the rain, we enjoyed a grill out, some beverages, and of course some of the best company! We lucked out, and the weather cleared up in just enough time for a pontoon ride before we left.

We say we're here to make the second half of life the best half of life for these special people, but sometimes we team members feel like they're doing the same to our life! We are blessed.

Join us in congratulating Heritage House’s very own, Clara Kennedy, on her new title of Cass County Fair Queen!

Clara is one of our excellent team members on our Food and Beverage team! Residents enjoy her so much that they support her outside of work too! A few residents cheer her on at her soccer games as she plays goalie and they enjoy honking from their cars when she blocks the ball. Just recently resident, Mike, made his way down to the fair to support her showing her horse, Bushwacker, and to say ‘congrats’ on the new title of Queen!

Congratulations, Clara - and thank you for going above and beyond to form meaningful relationships with our residents!

This article highlights the day the Atlantic FFA Chapter toured through our parking lot on their tractors, flooding many happy memories from the residents' days on the farm not so long ago! 🤍

We had a great time enjoying all the homemade watermelon treats! It was a “one in a melon” experience, as one of the party goers stated 😉

Our Health Center residents enjoyed a wonderful evening at Wellness Team Member Julie Gross’s home! We spent the night playing yard games, enjoying delicious barbecue (the ribs and smoked pork loin were a huge hit!), sharing lots of laughs, and ending the evening with fireworks. What could be better? Thank you, Julie, for opening your home and hosting such a fun night for everyone!
