Physical therapists work with people experiencing chronic pain to lessen their pain and restore their activity to the highest possible levels. They improve quality of life through hands-on care, patient education, and prescribed movement.

Occupational therapists uniquely focuses on function. This includes ADLs, (IADLs) (e.g., meal-prep, shopping, childcare), and other daily life activities. Occupational therapists take a holistic and comprehensive approach to thoroughly evaluate structural, psychological, environmental, and personal factors that influence the experience of pain.

Baptist Rehab's Lindsey Downing, OT and Jenna Shelton, PT had a fantastic day handing out snacks and hugs at the Special Olympics!! They earned more than they gave from all of the sweet children and all involved!!! This was an amazing event with over 200 children participating and 100 volunteers. So glad Baptist Rehab could be a small part!! 💙

Dr Jenna Shelton began her journey with Baptist Memorial Hospital Tipton as a student in the Baptist Foundation Education Assistance Program in the physical therapy department. She has since served 12 years with Baptist Tipton progressing to Director of Rehabilitation in 2017. Jenna is a graduate of Brighton High School. She earned her Bachelor's in Science in Health and Human Performance with a concentration in Exercise Science with honors from the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she also served as the President of the Sports, Health, Athletics and Physical Education (SHAPE) program. Jenna then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, also with honors. Jenna enjoys working with patients of all ages from birth to geriatrics. She serves as the pediatric physical therapist and is certified in Neuro-Developmental Treatment for Stroke patients. Jenna is also skilled in wound care and orthopedic management. She considers it a privilege to serve the community that she grew up in.

Jenna is married to her husband, Brandon. They have one daughter, Adin and one son, Sam. They enjoy traveling and watching their kids participate in sports and activities that they love.

Robin Thurman has been with Baptist Memorial Hospital for 17 years. She began her journey as an ER clerk at Tipton working nights and attending Jackson State Community College to obtain her Physical Therapy Assistant degree. She is a graduate of Munford High School and has also obtained her B.A. in Business Administration from LeMoyne Owen College and her Master's in Human Resources Management from Webster University.

She has worked outpatient, inpatient, and skilled therapy setting. She spent 5 years specializing in wound care while at Baptist Memphis. She currently works as a PRN PTA for Baptist Tipton and full time with the government as a Business System Analyst II. She has a passion for wound care and enjoys improving the lives of those she cares for.

She is wife to Kevin Thurman, youngest of 12 siblings, and mother of 3 children. Her oldest serves in the Air Force and resides in LA studying psychology. Her middle child lives in Mason, TN studying Computer Information Systems, and youngest is a student athlete at Bethel University majoring in business.

Kristen Wood is a valuable member of our rehab team. She has been a PTA for seven years in an outpatient setting. She graduated from MTSU with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Food Science and earned a PTA degree from Jackson State Community College. She is originally from Jackson, TN. She is married to her husband, Ryan, and they have an 18 month old daughter, Avery. She enjoys spending her time with family, doing yoga, reading, and attending Brighton High School baseball games in the spring, where her husband coaches.

Marcus Stevens is a staple of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton. He has worked for Baptist for 22 years as a Physical Therapy Assistant, and worked as a contracted PTA prior to that for 6 years. Marcus has filled many roles and has assisted many patients in his long years of service. Marcus is highly knowledgeable about woundcare services and inpatient treatments. He also aids in recovery for our patients in our Covington Outpatient Rehab Department.

Marcus is married with two sons and one grandson. He enjoys watching football and spending time with his family.

Dr. Diana Freyaldenhoven has been practicing physical therapy for 13 years. Diana received her undergraduate degree from University of Memphis and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UT Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. Diana is knowledgeable in inpatient, outpatient, and wound care therapy. She is certified in kinesio taping techniques as well. Diana is skilled in treating both neurological and orthopedic disorders to improve quality of life and function. She enjoys working with geriatric patients most.

Diana is wife to Jesse and mom to Landon, age 5. She enjoys barrel racing most weekends and caring for her 4 horses and 2 border collies.

Fun fact: She is a British Citizen!!

Dr. Matt Trouy has been a physical therapist for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton for 10 years. He is specialized in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy, and serves as our wound care expert. A graduate of Millington Central High School, he received his B.A. in Natural Science from Christian Brothers University, while playing 4 years of college baseball. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.

Matt currently lives on a farm in Shelby Forrest with his wife Tootie Trouy and 3 children. They have a collection of goats, horses, pigs, chickens, and a cow. When not at work, he enjoys watching his children rodeo and play sports.
