I hear a lot of people say that they did not get any benefit from chiropractic. They will say they went once or twice and didn't get any better.
My response is usually something like this:
You don't quit physical therapy after one visit.
You don't throw away your glasses after a week.
You don't pull braces off of your teeth after a month.
But if you don't get dramatic results after 3 chiropractic visits, you quit chiropractic.
Sometimes you don't feel immediately better is because the first few visits are not about getting relief. They are about making changes in your nervous system that has been compensating for a problem that has been going on for months or maybe even years.
Feeling better come from making changes in your body's movement patterns. Most people quit before these changes can take place.
Each adjustment makes a change in the spine that is stuck in an old pattern of movement. One visit cannot change something that has gone on for a long time. The brain needs repeated input not just one single event. Like learning to throw a ball, you can't learn correctly in one day.
The nervous system is the seed.
The chiropractic adjustment is the water.
Consistency is the gardener.
Most people who say chiropractic doesn't work are like a gardener holding the watering can they used once on their garden.
People who think chiropractic failed either had the wrong expectation or didn't give it enough time for changes to be made in their body.
If you have back, neck, shoulder or knee pain, check with me. Let's see what chiropractic can do for you.

One of the most counterproductive things that happens to people with this condition is that they stop doing everything. Their elbow hurts, so they stop lifting, stop exercising, stop the activities that keep them healthy and sane.

There is a significant difference between activities that provoke severe elbow pain and activities that don’t. If you can run, ride a bike, do lower-body training, or swim without significant elbow pain, keep doing those things. Deconditioning is not a treatment. Maintaining your overall fitness, your metabolic health, and your sense of agency over your own body is part of recovery, not something to defer until the elbow is perfect.

I’ve now had this in both elbows. I kept working out, but I had to adjust certain movements. I couldn’t lift the dumbbells from the ground to bench press. But if someone handed them to me once I was lying down, I was fine. Adjust as needed. Don’t wait until this goes away completely.

You limit what you do based on what actually hurts not based on a general instruction to rest. That instruction is often well-intentioned and frequently wrong.

Had some trouble with the phone/internet for the past hour an a half. If you tried calling and couldn’t get through I apologize, wasn’t my fault 😆.
I’m back to being connected to the world now!
