Transitions can ask a child to stop, shift attention, process what is next, and adjust to a new demand all at once. A little more predictability and support can make those changes easier to navigate.

Packing a backpack may look simple, but it brings together memory, organization, fine motor skills, and sequencing.

Everyday routines can be meaningful places for children to practice growing skills.

Therapy skills become more useful when they connect with the child’s daily life.

Parent collaboration may include sharing observations, learning practical strategies, and identifying small opportunities to practise during meals, dressing, play, school preparation, or community activities.

The goal is not to turn home into another therapy session. It is to help families understand what supports the child and use those ideas within routines that are already happening.

Repeated language can carry more meaning than it appears to at first.

A child may repeat a line from a show, echo a question, or use the same phrase during familiar situations. The words may help them process language, express an idea, regulate, or join an interaction.

Whats could be happening behind the repitition:
1. The phrase may help them process what they just heard.
2. It may communicate a familiar need, feeling, or situation.
3. Repetition can support memory and language learning.
4. The words may feel easier to use than creating a new sentence.
5. The phrase may be part of how they connect or participate.
