Be gentle with yourself.

Yes, the world is on fire. Yes, systems we thought were solid are crumbling.

Yes, rage is a completely rational response to injustice, cruelty, and chaos.

And also—you are allowed to rest.

You’re allowed to step back when the weight gets too heavy. You’re allowed to protect your nervous system even when everything around you demands a reaction. You’re allowed to feel the anger without letting it consume you.

Sustainable resistance requires sustainable humans. You can’t pour from an empty cup, and you can’t fight effectively when you’re running on fumes.

So rage when you need to. Speak up. Take action. But also give yourself permission to put it down sometimes. To breathe. To find moments of softness in the hard.
The work will still be there tomorrow. And you’ll be better equipped to face it if you’ve been kind to yourself today.

Today on World AIDS Day, I’m thinking about the millions of lives touched by HIV/AIDS—including my own family. I lost both my uncle and grandfather to this disease, and their absence is a reminder that behind every statistic is a person who was loved, who mattered, who left an empty space that can never be filled.

AIDS has taken too many bright lights from this world. It’s devastated entire communities and generations. But it’s also shown us the power of resilience, medical progress, and human compassion.

We’ve come so far—from a time when an HIV diagnosis was a death sentence to today, when people living with HIV can lead long, healthy lives with proper treatment. But we’re not done. Stigma still exists. Access to care remains unequal. And we still need a cure.

Today, I’m remembering those we’ve lost. I’m honoring those living with HIV/AIDS. And I’m recommitting to a world where no one else has to lose the people they love to this disease.

Wear your red ribbon. Get tested. Educate yourself. Speak up. Let’s finish what we started.
