CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS! 🎨🖌️✨

CHAD is excited to launch our Healthy Choices Sticker Contest!

We are inviting children and youth in our community to create original artwork that promotes:
- Healthy Choices
- Positive Growth
- Strong Support Systems
- Healthy Life Skills

Selected artwork may be turned into official CHAD stickers that will be shared at schools, community events, and programs throughout the year!

🗓️ Submission Deadline: June 18th, 2026
📍 Open to ALL youth (K-12)
✉️ Submit entries in person to 75 Genesee St, Auburn, NY 13021 or [email protected]

All artwork must be original and created by the student.

🚨 The contest flyer and entry form are included on this post for families who would like to print copies at home for convenience. Paper copies will also be available for pickup at the front desk of the CHAD office at your leisure.

📌 IMPORTANT: Because selected artwork may be printed on official CHAD stickers and used at community events, a parent/guardian signature is required for all submissions. The permission is included directly on the contest worksheet.

📌 No personal student information will be shared with artwork submissions.

We cannot wait to see the creativity, positivity, and inspiration our community brings to this project!

Making the first phone call is hard.

Walking through unfamiliar doors can be hard too.

Not knowing who will answer…
What to say…
How you’ll be treated…
Or what to expect on the other side can feel overwhelming.

We understand that.

At CHAD, our agency is filled with friendly faces who genuinely just want to help. đź’š

No judgment.
No pressure.
No expectations to have all the right words.

Whether you’re looking for support, information, resources, or simply a place to start — we’re here to meet you with kindness and compassion.

Sometimes the hardest part is just taking the first step, and we’re proud of anyone who does.

🎶 Stop by and say hi at the Elementary Spring Concerts! 🎶

C.H.A.D. will be set up with an informational table to showcase some of the prevention and wellness curriculum we teach right in our local schools. We’re excited to connect with families, answer questions about our program and services, and share helpful resources for parents and caregivers in our community!

We’ll have:
✨ Information about C.H.A.D. programs and services
✨ Educational brochures on topics like screen time and ma*****na safety/awareness for families
✨ Fun worksheets and activities focused on healthy choices and reducing screen time
✨ Parent resources and take-home materials
✨ FREE goodies for kids and families!

As ma*****na legalization continues to change what children may be exposed to, we believe it’s important to provide families with age-appropriate education, safety information, and open conversations to help keep kids informed and safe. Whether parents are ma*****na users or not, we want to help families learn how to be aware, responsible, and proactive when it comes to secondhand ma*****na exposure, safe storage, and having healthy conversations with children.

We’re looking forward to meeting everyone and being part of such a fun community event. Be sure to stop by our table before the concert begins or during intermission! 🎵💚

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Confidential Help for Alcohol and Drugs, Inc. (CHAD) Receives 2026 Health Equity Innovation Award from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield

Auburn, NY — Confidential Help for Alcohol and Drugs, Inc. (CHAD) is proud to announce it has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Health Equity Innovation Award from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. This annual award supports nonprofit organizations dedicated to reducing health disparities and improving health outcomes throughout the region.

The award will support the Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) – Outpatient & Peer Recovery Services program, an initiative designed to expand access to peer-based recovery support for individuals receiving outpatient Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment. This program strengthens engagement in care by providing lived-experience mentorship, individualized recovery planning, relapse prevention support, and connections to critical resources such as housing, employment, and transportation. By integrating peer services into clinical treatment, the program improves retention, reduces relapse risk, and decreases avoidable emergency department visits and hospitalizations.

The program was recognized for its innovative, evidence-informed approach to addressing healthcare access and the social determinants of health, as well as CHAD’s strong commitment to advancing equitable, community-centered solutions to the SUD crisis.

The Health Equity Innovation Awards reflect Excellus BlueCross BlueShield’s ongoing commitment to strengthening community health by investing in initiatives that expand access to care, address social drivers of health, and support underserved populations.

“We are honored to be recognized with this award,” said Caroline Rouen Dixon, Executive Director at CHAD. “This funding will allow us to expand our peer recovery workforce and increase access to critical support services, improving treatment retention, strengthening long-term recovery outcomes, and reducing strain on the healthcare system in our community.”
