Alfred F. Hingiss, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Auburn, Indiana, on Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born on September 2, 1938, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Alfred F. Hingiss, Sr. and Helen (Jordan) Hingiss, and was the eldest of two children.
A lifelong supporter of Scouting, Alfred exemplified the values of the Boy Scouts of America throughout his life. As a youth, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and remained actively involved in the organization for decades, serving as a Committeeman, Associate Post Advisor, Scoutmaster, Assistant Cubmaster, Neighborhood Commissioner, and member of the Order of the Arrow. He was recognized as a 40-year member of the Boy Scouts of America and continued to support the Bay-Lakes Council in Kiel, Wisconsin.
Alfred graduated from Kiel High School in Kiel, Wisconsin, in 1956. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin in 1960 before entering military service. In June 1960, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he served as a personnel specialist at the Army Hospital. Following six months of active duty, he continued his service in the Army Reserves for five and a half years and was honorably discharged in March 1966.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Alfred pursued additional higher education after his military service. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1968, completed several associate degrees through the University of Wisconsin and the University of Iowa between 1969 and 1971, and received a Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1972.
Throughout his career, Alfred held a variety of clerical and librarian positions. He was especially proud of his service with the Department of the Army's Defense Logistics Agency in Columbus, Ohio, where he worked in the Finance and Accounting Office from 1974 until 1984. During that time, he received numerous recognitions for his dedication and outstanding service.
In retirement, Alfred devoted himself to researching his family's genealogy. He took great pride in meticulously documenting the histories and lineage of the Hingiss and Jordan families. Though he had no children of his own, he found deep fulfillment in preserving his family's heritage for future generations.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and, most recently, his sister, Susan Gottsacker. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family line.
His legacy of service, education, and devotion to family history will be remembered by all who knew him.

Alfred will be laid to rest next to his family members in Kiel Cemetery in Kiel, Wisconsin.

L. Robert “Bob” Overy, 93, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Grey Stone Health & Rehabilitation in Fort Wayne. Bob was born March 11, 1933 in Tipton, Michigan. He was the son of Edward and Esther (Nortley) Overy, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in Tecumseh, Michigan and Tri State College in Angola, Indiana with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. On June 26, 1954, he married Barbara Schlotterer in Avilla, Indiana and she preceded him in death on January 12, 2014. He worked at Tecumseh Products Co. before leaving in 1963 to join Tokheim Corp. in Fort Wayne. Bob went on to spend 30 years with Tokheim in engineering, where he was granted two patents during his career before retiring. Bob enjoyed volunteering after his retirement. While living near Luther, Michigan, he helped build the Luther Area Museum, and with Habitat for Humanity, he helped build four homes, and remodel another. Bob was a volunteer and a life time member of the National Auto and Truck Museum of the United States in Auburn. He received the Volunteer of the Year award from NATMUS in 2018. That same year, he shared the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Appreciation Award with his son, Doug, and grandson, David. Bob and his wife Barbara loved to travel having visited all 50 states, Canada, and Mexico. They enjoyed over 15 cruises including Alaska, islands in the Caribbean Sea, Mexico, and South America. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Garrett. Surviving is a daughter, Lori (Bruce) Getts; son, Doug (Theresa) Overy; eight grandchildren, Melissa (Justin) Crabill, Andy (Crista) Overy, Molly (Jake) Hillegass, Mitchell (Missy) Getts, Steve Overy, Megan (Justin) Dexter, Joe Overy, and David (Julia) Overy; He was the proud great-grandfather to 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pinnington Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main Street, Auburn, with a recital of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 300 W. Houston Street, Garrett with Fr. Brian Isenbarger officiating.
Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Auburn.
Memorial donations may be made in the form of Masses at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Garrett, Indiana.

Dr. Linda Marie Sodano was taken far too soon from her family and friends on August 18, 2026, following a rapidly progressing illness for which there is no cure. She was born February 19th, 1961 at the U.S. naval base in Yokosuka, Japan to Rudolph Brezausek, Jr. and Sumie Ihara. She was raised in the Lawrence, Indiana suburb of Indianapolis, attending John Marshall High School and graduating as the valedictorian of the Class of 1979. Her college undergraduate work included stints at Indiana University and IUPUI, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She then attended the Indiana University School of Dentistry, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While a senior in dental school, she began dating fellow classmate, Thomas Paul Sodano, Jr, forming an emotional partnership which later evolved into a business partnership when they began their dental practice in Huntertown on Mar 1st, 1988. They were later married on Christmas Day, December 25th, 1989. The practice continued for 37 years until retirement on July 7th, 2025. Dr. Linda also contributed her services as the on-staff dentist at Irene Byron Health Center for 22 years. She was a member of the Huntertown Lions Club for 38 years, serving as club secretary for many years. She was also a cancer survivor. Anyone who engaged with her socially would quickly realize she enjoyed making other people feel special, often by giving them some sort of gift. She loved baking and trying new recipes for people. Her husband was frequently a test subject to determine how successful her offering would be. She never forgot someone's birthday or anniversary, often staying up most of the night to prepare cards and edibles for that honored individual. Dr. Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Dr. Judi Brezausek, M.D. and her mother, Sumie Brezausek. She is survived by her husband, Tom, and her two sons, Quentin and Vincent, her father, Rudy Brezausek and scores of friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched. She cemented a firm legacy on behalf of love and caring, and the world seems like a less friendly place without her in it. Visitation for Dr. Linda will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lifehouse Community Church, 16021 Lima Road, Huntertown, Indiana. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., also at Lifehouse Community Church. A private burial will take place in Cedar Creek Cemetery in 6828 CR 11A, Auburn. Memorial donations may be made to the Huntertown Lions Club. God called Anna Mae Butler, 88, of Auburn, home on Monday, August 10, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Anna Mae was born on July 27, 1938, in Waterloo to Dessie Frederick and Ernest Greenfield.
Anna Mae attended Leo School and later graduated from University High School in Bloomington, Indiana. While in high school, she worked at Leever Dry Cleaners in Auburn. She later worked in the drapery department at Wolf & Dessauer in Fort Wayne before starting her family. Over the years, Anna Mae also worked as a sales associate and later as store manager at Monique Fabrics in Auburn. She also worked alongside her husband in the family business, Butler & Butler Construction, Inc., in Auburn.
A devout Christian, Anna Mae's faith was at the center of her life. She was a faithful prayer warrior who loved God and Jesus and found great purpose in praying for others. She was a member of Gideons for 40 years and was involved with DeKalb County Prison Ministries.
Anna Mae married Kern Butler on July 31, 1955, at Spencerville Methodist Church. He survives in Auburn, and together they shared 71 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband, Kern Butler of Auburn; three daughters, Victoria Hauan, Roxanne Butler, and Teena Butler; three grandchildren, Justine Jarvis, Jacob Butler-Jancose, Lodden Hart; and two great-grandchildren, Wednesday Jarvis and Gus Jarvis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Donna Ort, Charlotte Igney, and Linnet Hartman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jo Ann Robbins, 78, of Garrett, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Parkview Dekalb Hospital in Auburn. Jo Ann was born July 3, 1948 in Garrett, a daughter of the late Jack and Maveline Snyder. Jo Ann is survived by her husband, DeWayne Robbins of Garrett; children, Tammy Robbins of Arizona, Rick (Jeannie) Robbins of Michigan, Shane (Amanda) Streets of Oklahoma, and Eve Streets of Arizona; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Jeff Snyder. A private cemetery service will be held.

Sharon Smith Kent, 78, of Angola, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Sharon was born on January 8, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana. She is survived by her husband, Dale Kent; daughters, Jennifer Klug and Shannon Irwin; sons, William Everett, Doug Hansen and Phillip Kent; grandchildren, Jacyn Webb, Harrison Webb, Jacob Klug, Jessah Klug Budreau, Karra Irwin and Danielle Williams. She was preceded in death by Heidi Kent and Heather Everett. No services will be held.

Jimmie Gamble, 78, of Garrett, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. He was born on October 29, 1947, in Kodak, Kentucky.
Jimmie worked for many years as a rubber mill operator at Flexible in Garrett.
In his spare time, he enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and University of Kentucky basketball, as well as fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Gamble of Garrett; children, Melinda (Todd) Praul of Payne, Ohio, Victoria (Virgil) Hicks of Butler, Otis Gamble of Butler, Christel Kemerly of Garrett, and Jamie Kemerly of Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Elva Gamble.
A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held on Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Garrett Eagles Lodge #1357, 220 S. Randolph Street, Garrett, Indiana 46738.

Larry L. “Butch” Lichtsinn, 82, of Auburn, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, at home. He was born December 4, 1943, in Fort Wayne.
Larry was a 1961 graduate of Leo High School and graduated from Purdue University in 1965 with a degree in forestry. He served in the Indiana Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971.
Larry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked as a forester for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Forestry Division for 43 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Lichtsinn of Auburn; son and daughter-in-law, Larry L. and Kim Lichtsinn of Leo; daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Joseph DeKoninck of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by and infant son, Luke; parents, Leroy F. and Geraldine E. Lichtsinn.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1801 N. Main Street, Auburn. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the church, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Jonathan Nack will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn, with military honors.

Daniel LaTurner, 79, of Sidney, Ohio, formerly of Auburn, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in Sidney. He was born on April 2, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Dan graduated from Garrett High School with the Class of 1965. He dedicated 48 years of his career as a sheet metal and construction journeyman and also worked for 20 years at International Harvester/Navistar. He was known for his strong work ethic, loyalty, and craftsmanship throughout his career.
A man of faith, Dan was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Auburn. He was also a member of the Auburn Moose Lodge and the Garrett American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and following all types of sports. More than anything, Dan cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Peggy Ann (Dile Jones) LaTurner; sons, Brett D. LaTurner, Kevin Frazier-Jones, and Mark Frazier-Jones; daughters, Megan LaTurner and Alena Laggner; brothers, Samuel R. (Janet) LaTurner and Charles A. "Chuck" (Lori) LaTurner; sisters, Angelique K. LaTurner Smith and Melba LaTurner Hauge; daughter-in-law, Marcy Foster LaTurner; numerous grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Glass LaTurner in 1997; parents, Curt R. and Mary B. LaTurner; son, Andrew "Andy" LaTurner; daughter, Lannette Jones; brother, Scott D. LaTurner; brother-in-law, Albert "Bert" Hauge.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 316 W. 4th Street, Auburn, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Adam Reasner will officiate.

Karen R. Robbins, 84, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 2, 2026.
Karen was born on March 21, 1942, in Xenia, Ohio, to Delbert Wayne and Mary Evelyn Kersey. She attended Eastern Kentucky University, where, during her student teaching in South Shore, Kentucky, she met the love of her life, Jimmie Dean Robbins. The two were soon married and together built a loving family.
Karen found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved reading a good book and was rarely without a crossword puzzle to complete. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Decatur, Indiana.
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Dana (Mark Wappes) Robbins of Auburn and Christa (John) Ison of Lynn; her five grandchildren, Lacey, Cody, Lindsey, Gage, and Quaid; ten great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rita Marlene Adams of Xenia, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Dean Robbins; her parents, Delbert Wayne and Mary Evelyn Kersey; and her sisters, Carol Kersey and Gloria Jean Kersey.
In accordance with Karen's wishes, no services will be held.
