Dr. Courtney Sproat, PT, DPT, CLT

Dr. Courtney Sproat, PT, DPT, CLT I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy who specializes in breast rehab and lymphatic care. I am also dry needling certified in the state of Indiana.

I’m a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, certified breast cancer rehabilitation therapist, certified Lymph Flow Yoga instructor, and BioScan SRT and dry needling certified. I grew up in Garrett, Indiana, and graduated from Garrett High School in 2009. While at Garrett, I was actively involved in sports (soccer, basketball, and track) and student council. I went on to earn my Associate's Degree in Rad

iography and Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging Technology from Indiana University, but after working in the field for 5 years, I decided to return to school to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I graduated from Trine University in 2022, and began working in cancer rehab after graduating. I have always wanted to work in healthcare to help others, but truly found my passion once I began helping people throughout their cancer journey. I am a certified breast cancer rehabilitation therapist and a certified lymphedema therapist. My goal is to educate and empower people before, during, and after their cancer treatment to improve their quality of life. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, and we live in the country here in Auburn, Indiana, with our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy spending time outdoors in nature, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and watching sports, especially college basketball, Notre Dame football, and the Indianapolis Colts.

I’m incredibly honored and humbled to have been voted Best Physical Therapy Practice in DeKalb County.

To everyone who took the time to nominate me and vote—thank you. Your support truly means more than I can put into words.

Truthfully, I don’t do what I do for awards or recognition. I became a physical therapist because I have a passion for helping people heal, regain confidence in their bodies, and improve their quality of life. Being able to walk alongside my patients and clients during some of life’s most challenging seasons is the greatest privilege.

While this recognition is deeply appreciated, what means the most to me is the trust my patients and clients place in me each day.

Awards like this also help spread awareness about the specialized physical therapy services I provide, including breast rehabilitation and lymphatic care. If this recognition helps even one more person learn that these services are available and get the care they need, then it’s worth celebrating.

Thank you to my patients and clients for trusting me, to my bosses and coworkers at Auburn Massage & Wellness Centre for their support, and to everyone in our community who made this possible.

I’m grateful, honored, and excited to continue serving DeKalb County—one patient at a time. ❤️

I’m so grateful Cancer Services took the time to meet with me and start this program. Some individuals struggle with performing lymphatic drainage themselves while others just don’t feel the same benefit of doing it themselves versus seeing someone trained to do it.

Here in the United States, the primary cause of lymphedema is cancer and cancer treatment, such as lymph node removal and radiation therapy. The incidence of cancer-related lymphedema ranges from 6-50%; it often depends on the type of cancer, cancer treatment, and individual health factors. About 7 million Americans develop lymphedema stemming directly from their cancer treatment.

Lymphatic drainage helps target and open the lymphatic vessels as well as stimulating the lymph nodes to improve lymph flow within our body to decrease swelling. It also helps boost the immune system, aids in digestion, helps remove wastes and toxins, and maintains fluid balance within the body. It is a very light, gentle and rhythmic technique performed in a specific sequence. It is personalized for each individual.

Every time I volunteer, my heart leaves happy and I feel like I made a difference that day. I commonly was asked where can I receive this service after discharged from physical therapy or if insurance would no longer cover it so beyond starting my business in Auburn, I wanted to offer my services at Cancer Services as well. I know it is a needed and appreciated service. Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with your care and allowed me to provide this service.

500 followers… wow. 💚🩷🩵

Thank you all for being here and for supporting my page!

When I created this page, my goal wasn’t to gain followers—it was to share education, encouragement, and resources to help people better understand their bodies, especially breast cancer rehabilitation, lymphedema, and lymphatic health.

I’ll be honest: social media has never been my strongest skill, and this season of pregnancy has definitely made it harder to post consistently. Even so, this page has connected me with so many wonderful people and has even helped bring patients and clients through my door. For that, I’m incredibly grateful.

Whether you’ve liked a post, shared information, attended a class, trusted me with your care, or simply followed along—thank you. Your support truly means more than you know.

As an individual physical therapist, word of mouth means everything. One of the greatest compliments you can give me is sharing my page or posts, recommending me to someone who may benefit from my services, or simply telling someone about the care you received. Thank you for helping me grow and for trusting me enough to recommend me to your family and friends. It truly means the world.

I’m excited to continue sharing evidence-based education, practical tips, resources, and compassionate care to help you feel empowered throughout your health journey.

Here’s to the next chapter! 🌱💚

You may have already seen it in my email or heard the news from me personally, but I wanted to share here as well. I’ve had more of my own appointments and been out of the office more than usual so I apologize if you’ve called or stopped by and I wasn’t in. I plan to continue working as long as I can until I start my maternity leave in October. I plan to be off for 3 months once the baby arrives.

Asking for your help!

Below is a link to a short survey about my Guided Gentle Lymph Movement & Yoga/Lymphatic Flow Yoga class that I started this year. I'm hoping to receive feedback to improve the class for the future and be able to offer other days and times that work better for more of the community. This survey is completely anonymous and should only take a few minutes to complete. If you've ever attended a class or even been interested in attending, please help me by providing any feedback you have to make the class better and more accessible. Thank you so much for your time!

I absolutely love these classes and have received such positive feedback that I want to keep them going, especially here in my local community.

I'm hoping to improve my class for the future and offer other days and times that work better for more of the community. You've received this because you've attended one of my classes in the past or are a current/past patient/client. Please provide any feedback you have to make this class better and...
