💙 Back in early June, students from Maine Arts Academy spent their Day of Caring giving back to organizations throughout the community—and we were honored to be one of their stops!

The students rolled up their sleeves and washed all of our outdoor furniture, helping prepare our patios and outdoor spaces for the season. Thanks to their hard work, our residents have been able to enjoy those spaces all summer long. ☀

🏍️ Our 3rd Annual Motorcycle Rally was a wonderful success! 🏍️

The sunshine, the motorcycles, the music, the food, and — most importantly — the company made for a day to remember! ☀️

Our beautiful king size quilt was won by resident and Marine Veteran, Frank Patrick, who gracoiusly donated it back to us for our next big event.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us, including our riders, residents, families, team members, volunteers, and community partners. Special thanks to our friends from Heroes On Wheels for the delicious eats, Flashback for providing the soundtrack for the afternoon, and everyone who helped make this event possible.

Join us for our Motorcylce Rally from 11am - 2pm.

We'll be selling raffle tickets for this beautiful king size handmade quilt. 1 for $1, 6 for $5, 15 for $10. All proceeds go to our Resident Activity Fund.

Last month, we held our annual Memorial Day ceremony.

One of our core values is "Veterans are Unique." Memorial Day holds especially personal meaning for Veterans and military families. In recognition of this, our ceremony was filled with heart and reflection.

Residents, team members, volunteers, and community members came together not only as attendees, but as active participants. Through readings, music, remarks, and shared memories, we created a meaningful tribute to those who gave their lives in service to our country.

While Memorial Day is a solemn day of remembrance, it can also be a healing experience. For many Veterans, there is comfort in gathering with their sisters and brothers in arms—people who understand the bonds of military service and the sacrifices that accompany it. We shared a beautiful experience in community with one another that transcends what words can adequately describe.

Thank you to all who were a part of it.

💜🎉 Congratulations, Bob! 🎉💜

We recently gathered to celebrate resident Bob Emery, who was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Honorable Mention Award through the Maine Health Care Association Remember ME program.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Bob was drafted in 1952 and served as a Heavy Weapons Infantryman. After returning home, he built a life centered on family, community, and service to fellow Veterans. For more than 57 years, Bob was an active member of American Legion Post 205 in Augusta. He also helped countless Veterans connect with the benefits they had earned through their service.

Bob's connection to MVH is very special. In addition to his volunteer work, he spent several years working in the Maintenance Department here. It was especially meaningful to have many of Bob's former coworkers join us for the celebration and help honor the impact he made during his time at MVH.

Bob's life is a testament to service, generosity, and commitment to others. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the impact he has made on so many lives.

Please join us in congratulating Bob on this special honor! 👏💜
