Our clinical team recently trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, a specialized approach for treating OCD and a key part of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) one of the most effective, evidence-based treatment models in behavioral health.

As a CCBHC, ongoing training in practices like CBT reflects our commitment to providing the highest quality care to our community.

🌟 August Business of the Month Spotlight: South Central Mental Health 🌟

For more than 60 years, South Central Mental Health Counseling Center has been helping individuals and families throughout our region access the support they need.

Established in 1962, SCMHCC is one of the oldest community mental health centers in Kansas. Today, they serve clients from ages 2 to 100 through locations in Andover, El Dorado, Augusta, and East Wichita.

Their team provides individual and family therapy, medication management, case management, supported employment, substance abuse treatment, and much more.

We're proud to recognize South Central Mental Health as our August Business of the Month and spend the next few weeks helping our community get to know more about the important work they do! 💙

SCMHCC in the Community!

This past Thursday, Jayla, Jodi, and Cassie represented SCMHCC at the Baby Jubilee Community Baby Shower at the Community Building in El Dorado.

The event brought together valuable resources and support for expecting parents, growing families, and members of our community.

A special shoutout to Jodi for presenting at the event and doing a wonderful job representing SCMHCC and sharing information about the services and support available to our community!

We’re grateful for opportunities to connect with local families, build community partnerships, and help make resources more accessible to those we serve.

We’re proud to celebrate an exciting accomplishment from our El Dorado Early Intervention Center!

The EIC recently completed its annual licensing survey with ZERO violations, an achievement that reflects the team’s commitment to providing children and families with a safe, high-quality, and supportive environment.

This milestone is even more meaningful as it was Site Coordinator Kelsey Guy’s first annual licensing inspection in her leadership role!

Congratulations to Kelsey and the entire El Dorado EIC team! Your hard work, teamwork, and dedication to the children and families we serve are worth celebrating.

We have exciting news to share!

SCMHCC is proud to celebrate four members of our team who have recently completed their college requirements and are now practicing as outpatient mental health therapists.

🌟Isiah Lykes has been part of the SCMHCC team since 2013, when he began as a Children's Case Manager. His dedication over the past decade has culminated in this well-earned achievement.

🌟Allison Tollefson joined our organization in 2022 as a Children's Care Coordinator, and her continued commitment to our clients has brought her to this next step in her career.

🌟Kerby Kelly began with SCMHCC in 2025 and was instrumental in providing clerical support for our Crisis Department while pursuing her long-term goals.

🌟Jessica Jameson started her journey with SCMHCC in 2025 as a Clinical Intern and we were excited that she chose us as her "official" employer.

All four completed their clinical internships here at SCMHCC, and we are honored to have supported them along the way.
