A big congratulations to our chief residents, Kyle Frazier and Pratik Patel that have graduated this year ๐ŸŽ‰! We are thankful for their excellent leadership, compassionate patient care, and genuine kindness to all the people they have worked with in these past years. Although they will be greatly missed in Augusta, we know they will make an amazing impact on others with the knowledge and skills they have gained here.

Introducing Mohamad Fawaz!

1) Dental School: Midwestern University Arizona College of Dental Medicine

2) Why OMFS: โ€œOMFS interests me because it is a unique combination of medicine, dentistry and anesthesia which makes it the most well-rounded specialty in healthcare.โ€

3) Why Augusta: โ€œI am excited to start my training at Augusta OMFS because of the broad scope and resident environment. Everyone I met has been friendly and hospitable which makes me feel like it will be a great home for the next 4 years. Residents gain exposure to the many types of procedures OMFS has to offer.โ€

4) Favorite things to do outside of work: โ€œI enjoy playing soccer, snowboard, and barbecue.โ€

5) Fun fact: โ€œI am on IMDB because I was in a short film when I was in middle school.โ€

Extremely excited to announce our incoming residents! Congrats to all who have matched.

Ryan Mooneyham!

1) Dental school: University of Iowa College of Dentistry
Why OMFS: "A large part of my decision to pursue OMFS was inspired by my father, who was trained as an oral surgeon in the US Navy. The blend of medicine, dentistry, and the ability to truly make a difference in someoneโ€™s life has always captivated me about this profession."

2) Why Augusta โ€“ "Seeing how the current residents interacted with each other made it feel like a family and an awesome team which really drew me to this program. I also know that by training at Augusta, I would be extremely well-prepared as a future surgeon working so closely with the faculty, and by the sheer scope of practice and breadth of procedures performed."

3) Favorite things to do outside of work: "In my free time, I really enjoy camping at State parks with my girlfriend, Liz, and our 3-year-old German Shepard, Ellie! We also enjoy exploring local craft breweries and hanging out with friends and family."

4) Fun fact: "Worked at a movie theatre for 10 years before going to dental school. Favorite movie: Titanic (I have this weird fascination with the Titanic โ€“ ask me anything about the ship!)"
