Being a mom, especially a working mom, is tough. Trying to balance it all and yet I always feel as if we are about to fall over. Don’t forget though, you’re doing a great job!

What is home call like in my private practice. I am one of 5 in a private practice group and we share home call. We all try to deliver our own patients during the work day and we manage our own inductions, but if something comes in overnight, there is always someone available. We also answer emergency patient calls overnight. Our hospital also has a laborist team that is in house for emergencies and to manage the majority of the triages.

Most days I can get to a delivery in 8 minutes… today however it took 21 minutes!

Thinking about trying for a baby? Here are the first steps I walk through with my patients: Log your periods – Tracking helps us find your fertile window and know the best time to try. It can also help us identify if there are any problems that may impact your fertility. Use ovulation predictor kits – These give us a clearer picture of when you’re actually ovulating, so timed in*******se is more effective (the days leading up to and including ovulation are best). Start folic acid now – Ideally before pregnancy. This helps support early development and prevents certain birth defects. Have a preconception check-in – Review your medical history, current medications, and any personal concerns with your doctor before you start trying. Trying for a pregnancy can be stressful, but remember it should be a fun process 😘😉 Every journey looks a little different, but a strong foundation helps you feel confident and prepared. ❤️
