Could LESS time in school actually help your child learn MORE?

It might sound backward, but for some children, the answer is yes!

Being in a classroom doesn't always mean a child is getting the most out of their education. Sometimes, developing foundational skills like communication, independence, and social interaction can make all the difference in their future success.

What if spending part of the school day in individualized ABA therapy could help your child get MORE out of school in the years ahead?

Every child is different, and the goal isn't to choose between school and therapy. It's to find the right balance that helps your child thrive.

In our latest blog, we explore why more classroom hours don't always mean more learning, and what parents should consider when making these important decisions.

I feel like October snuck up on us this year. One minute we were getting everyone back into school routines, and now somehow we’re already talking about fall activities and the holidays coming up.

We’ve had a lot of exciting updates going on at Gold Vine lately, so I wanted to share our October newsletter and catch you up on a few things.

Our Florida team recently spent some time at the FABA conference, we’ve been learning and growing as a team, and we’re also starting to offer a few new ways to help families beyond ABA — including tutoring, parent consultation, and help with IEPs and 504 plans.

If you haven't had the chance to check it out, our website was recently updated. Not only is it more user friendly, we work hard to be able to provide accessible education and resources to all families. Check out our blog! https://goldvineservices.com/resources

There’s also a really easy little fall activity in there if you’re looking for something to do with the kids that doesn’t require a trip to Target and $47 worth of craft supplies. 😅

Anyway, take a look when you have a minute. We just wanted to share what we’ve been up to and keep you in the loop. We’re also excited to have some new availability for services in several locations, so please feel free to share Gold Vine with families or community members who may be looking for support.

And if you ever have a question about something we’re offering, just message us. We’re always happy to talk!

We’re excited to introduce Ms. Victoria Jones, a compassionate and experienced BCBA serving our Polk County families!

Victoria is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 9 years of experience in ABA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and a master’s in Special Education, with experience supporting individuals ages 2–24 across school, home, and community settings.

At Gold Vine, Victoria develops individualized treatment plans, supervises RBTs, and partners closely with families to ensure high-quality, meaningful care coaching and guiding families through every step of the way. She takes a naturalistic approach, embedding skill-building into everyday routines, and prioritizes functional communication to help clients express their needs effectively. Behavior is communication regardless of the function, so we work to find the quickest and easiest way for the client to communicate their needs to replace behavior and increase overall quality of life

As a mom of two, Victoria values realistic, collaborative strategies that work beyond sessions, She understands nothing is perfect and we don't have time to do intervention 100% of the time. Part of what she does in parent training is to meet parents/teachers where they are to make interventions work outside of therapy, cultivating a team approach. She loves celebrating small wins and helping families experience lasting progress.

Outside of work, Victoria and her family spend time together through Sunday worship and regularly going to Disney.

We are so happy to have Ms. Victoria as part of the Gold Vine team and serving families throughout Polk County!

Big news for our Gold Vine families and surrounding community! 🌿

You’ve known us for ABA therapy, but we’re growing to offer more ways to help you and your kids.

If homework has become a nightly struggle, you’re unsure what to ask for at a school meeting, or you keep thinking, “There has to be an easier way to get through this part of our day,” we’d love to help.

Here’s what’s new:

📚 One-on-One Tutoring
For the child who needs a little more time, a different explanation, or help building confidence with schoolwork.

🏫 School Plan Consultation & Advocacy
Help understanding your child’s IEP or 504 plan, advocacy services, and preparing to speak up for what they need at school.

💬 One-on-One Parent Consultation
Time to talk through what’s happening with your child and leave with ideas you can actually use at home.

🤝 Gold Vine Parent Circle
A monthly space to meet other parents, ask your questions, and work through everyday challenges—with professional guidance and follow-up for your family.

🧸 Childcare—Coming Soon!
A welcoming place where different personalities, needs, and ways of learning are understood.

💚 And we’re still here for ABA therapy, helping children build everyday skills with parents involved along the way.

As a family-owned business, we’re excited to grow alongside the families who have trusted us with their children—and welcome new families, too.

Have questions about a service? Send us a message. We’d love to hear what you’re looking for.

Hello from FABA! Thrilled to have our Florida BCBA team together under one roof for FABA in Orlando!

Day 1 has exceeded expectations! Ms. Nicole's favorite quote so far is "We shouldn't teach great book; we should teach a love of reading. Knowing the content of a few works of literature is a trivial achievement. Being inclined to go on reading is a great achievement." - B.F. Skinner

Are you at FABA this year? We would love for you to come find us and say hi! What is your favorite part so far?

Calling all Central Florida families!

Finding the right support for your child means searching for therapists, schools, activities, doctors, the list goes on. The hard part is, that information isn't even readily available. Digging for resources for your child is a part-time job, believe me I've been there.

That is why we are proud to support World of Special Needs. As far as we have seen, there is not another resource that brings this much consolidated information together all in one place.

And the best part is, families love it. It didn't take long for the Gold Vine team to decide this is something we wanted to support. Gold Vine primarily serves families through our ABA services, but we know ABA is only one piece of a much bigger picture. We care a lot about education, and we are always telling families about resources that can help them beyond our support.

Check out page 12 for our contributions to the ABA article, and our company ad.

Sometimes progress is so small you almost miss it.

Your child asks for help instead of getting completely overwhelmed.
He gets through bedtime with one less reminder.
Her pink tutu is still a problem… but not a 30-minute problem.
He calms down a little faster.
She lets you help in a way they couldn’t before.

These are the moments that count the most.

What’s a new change you've noticed in your child that wasn't there a few months ago?

09/14/2026

POV: You told your child to “get ready”—but somehow they have one shoe, no bag, and a toy they have not touched in six months. 😅

“Get ready” may sound like one simple direction, but it can contain several smaller steps. A short visual routine—such as shoes, bag, car—can make the next step easier to understand without creating an elaborate schedule.

The goal is not a perfect transition. It is making a real family routine a little more manageable.

What is the hardest part of getting out the door in your home?

Today we remember 9/11, grieving the lives that were lost and honoring our courageous first responders and fellow Americans that took action during this terrible tragedy. Over 20 years ago now, many young Americans don't remember personally the events that took place on 9/11. These generations experienced it through their parents and grandparents. As 9/11 gets further back in history, we don't need to let it become a distant memory. Shared below is an opinion piece of the importance of honoring and remembering 9/11 for years to come.

Share below an idea about how Americans can be more unified!
