Skywood Recovery

Skywood Recovery We are a residential treatment facility that firmly believes that everyone has the ability to recover There are no lone wolves in recovery.

Skywood is an extraordinary place that fosters healing through our staff, peer support and a restorative environment. As part of Foundations Recovery Network, our purpose is to create lifetime relationships for long-term recovery. You aren’t just experiencing rehab and treatment at Skywood; you’re developing the skills and relationships you need to propel you into a brand new life. Establishing th

is new life is also about finding ways to sustain it long past your days at the facility. Here are some things that we want you to know about our philosophy at Skywood:

You are connected. Just like how stars are part of constellations, you are inherently part of a network that reaches far beyond your imagination. You will have help, and be able to give back, as you achieve and pursue recovery. Your destiny is waiting for you. Feeling guilty or ashamed of what your life should be—or hasn’t been—is holding back your future. Imagine living freely and taking hold of who you’re meant to be as you begin to reclaim your identity. Uncovering your destiny is what recovery is all about. Healing does happen, and happiness is possible. The chances are great that you’ve overlooked the amount of restoration and gratitude that can happen in your life. Prepare to discover this again—or for the first time—as you embark on a journey of positive change. If you’re ready to take the first step toward recovery, contact us today. Physicians are on the medical staff of Skywood Recovery Center, but, with limited exceptions, are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Skywood Recovery Center. The facility shall not be liable for actions or treatments provided by physicians. Model representations of real patients are shown. We are unable to provide medical advice through social media. Please contact your physician, or in case of emergency, call the National Su***de Prevention Lifeline at 988. June is Men's Health Month—a reminder that taking care of your health includes both your physical and emotional well-being.

Too often, men are encouraged to "tough it out" or suffer in silence. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of strength. Prioritizing mental health, addressing substance use concerns and building healthy connections are essential steps toward lasting wellness and recovery.

At Skywood Recovery, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care and supporting men on their journey toward healing, hope and lifelong recovery.

This month, we encourage men everywhere to check in with themselves, reach out for support and make their health a priority.

Tip Tuesday 🐾

Meet Jack—his *blep* skills are on point!

You’ll often find him at Skywood Outpatient in Royal Oak. Jack’s caregiver, Kim, is also a therapist at Skywood and sees firsthand the positive impact animals have on clients in early recovery.

Being around animals can lower stress, build trust, improve emotional regulation and create a sense of safety. Even watching animal videos can have a calming effect!

Take a moment today to practice mindfulness with your pet—they’re experts at staying present! 🐶

Coming into treatment can feel overwhelming. As Sara Tigay explains, the relationship between you and substances can feel like a tightly wound slinky—everything compressed and hard to see clearly.

When you begin treatment, that “slinky” starts to safely expand. You’re able to see the different pieces that play a role in the addictive process.

Treatment gives you the space to gently unravel those parts, better understand them and learn healthier, safer ways to respond.

Please call Skywood today at 833-448-5600 to begin your journey to treatment.

🌈 Celebrating Pride & Recovery at Ferndale Pride Festival! 🌈

Our Royal Oak team—Sara, Kim and Lindsey—had an incredible time representing Skywood Recovery at the Ferndale Pride Festival, Michigan’s largest free-to-the-public LGBTQIA+ festival!

We were honored to be part of the recovery section, connecting with the community and sharing resources. Even more inspiring, our team collectively brings 38 years of sobriety, reflecting the power of recovery, hope and resilience.

At Skywood, we are committed to providing inclusive, compassionate care for every individual. If you or someone you know in the LGBTQIA+ community is seeking support, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help. 💙

Ask yourself this: If nothing changes… what happens next?

Struggling with substance use—or watching someone you love struggle—doesn’t mean failure. It means it’s time for support.

Detox and Residential care can help when:
•Stopping feels impossible without help
•Health, work, or relationships are slipping
•Withdrawal feels scary or dangerous
•You’ve said “this is the last time” more than once

You don’t have to have all the answers—just a willingness to talk.
Visit https://bit.ly/4dO7Xoe to chat with someone right now, or call 833-448-5600 to speak with our admissions team.

During PTSD Awareness Month, it’s important to recognize how untreated trauma can impact long-term recovery.

Identifying co-occurring PTSD and substance use is key to connecting individuals with appropriate care.

As a member of the Foundations Recovery Network, we provide dual diagnosis treatment to help patients achieve lasting recovery. To learn more, visit us online at https://bit.ly/4uZkoDJ.

Family Support at Skywood 💙

Sara, our Group Clinic Director, facilitates our family group nights—an integral part of what sets Skywood apart from other treatment facilities.

We believe recovery is strongest when families are involved. That’s why we offer these sessions both in-person and virtually, making it easier for loved ones to participate.

Family group nights provide a space to:
-Learn effective communication strategies
-Gain education around substance use disorder
-Explore ways to support your loved one’s recovery moving forward

We encourage families to join, connect and grow together throughout the recovery journey.
