Break Free
Trauma is a sensitive subject. Many of us have been through, or are currently experiencing trauma~ stress within a relationship, difficult family dynamics, job or financial stressors, on and on.
We often don’t know or understand that trauma impacts us as a whole, body, mind and spirit. Trauma impacts our nervous system. We may be unable to sleep, or sleep too much. We may have fluctuations with appetite or weight. We may be experiencing free floating anxiety and not know why. Sometimes, diagnoses such as anxiety or depression can have trauma origins~ yet the trauma origins are not recognized or addressed.
If this sounds familiar, you are not alone. Trauma, though so common, is often a “dirty little secret” and there is shame attached. “How could I have let this happen?” “How did I not see it?” “I should have known better?” “What is wrong with me?”
There is nothing wrong with you! Yet~ there may be circumstances or situations which may need to be addressed.
You may be realizing that something is not right. You are not comfortable, happy, settled or fulfilled with different aspects of your life.
Take heart~ it is ok to have questions without immediate answers. Focusing on “answers” can be overwhelming, scary and unmanageable. Instead, consider taking things one step at a time~ day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment.
Focus on simple comforts~
Coffee
A round of golf
A nap
A walk
Enjoy a scented candle
Take a bubble bath
Go fishing
Sit outside in the sunshine
Pet our cat or dog
Beach day
Be kind to yourself. It is ok to take a mental health day, to walk away from the dishes, to have laundry sitting in a basket.
Rest. Breathe. Be.
Break free of the everyday grind.
Clarity will come. Answers cannot be forced, they unfold.
You are not alone, and you are stronger than you think.
We look forward to connecting with you!
