Since 1979, Star Wars fans have cleverly used the term “May the 4th be with you”. It is said to have originated when UK Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher took office on May 4, 1979 and the newspaper headlines read “May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie.” Since then, it was unofficially celebrated as Star Wars Day until 2012 when Disney acquired Lucas Films and made it official! Please help us give a warm welcome to Janice, our newest Patient Care Coordinator! Here’s a little bit about her:

Janice Avery was born and raised in Orange County, CA. She is the oldest of one brother, married with one daughter who she stayed home with to raise. Janice volunteered and worked at her daughters' school, Mariners Christian School. She spent a lot of time at the beach, shopping, and at Disneyland. Janice and her family moved to Aurora CO in 2017 where she worked for 4 years at an assisted living facility and enjoyed creating relationships with the residents. When she is not helping others, Janice relishes spending time with her family, enjoying the awesome outdoors in CO, and expanding her culinary skills.

Help us give a warm welcome to the newest member of our team- Dr. Kelly Casper! Here’s a little bit about her:

Dr. Kelly Casper is a clinical audiologist from Rogers, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Communication Disorders and Sciences from the University of Kansas, and her Doctor of Audiology from Rush University in Chicago, IL. She moved to Denver during her final year of study to complete her externship at the University of Colorado Hospital, UCHealth, on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Dr. Casper is licensed to practice audiology in the state of Colorado, holds memberships with the American Academy of Audiology and Colorado Academy of Audiology, and is clinically certified through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

Dr. Casper is passionate about helping people lead better quality lives through improved hearing and balance. She has experience helping patients with hearing aids, cochlear implants, tinnitus management, and vestibular evaluation. Dr. Casper first came to Colorado on a high school service trip and has loved the state ever since! During her free time, she enjoys dancing, hiking, traveling, and sharing good food with loved ones. You can also find her regularly at Stoney’s to cheer on her first alma mater during March Madness – Rock Chalk!
