Federal changes are coming to Colorado’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado. Starting October 1, 2026, some immigrants who currently qualify may lose full coverage — but many people will not be affected. If you are, you’ll receive a letter before anything changes.

What to do now, before October 1, 2026:

Update your information at Colorado PEAK (co.gov/PEAK ), the Health First Colorado app, or your county human services office.

Use your coverage now — schedule medical, dental, and behavioral health appointments and refill prescriptions.
Watch for official letters and respond to any you receive.

Reach out to someone you trust. Local organizations are ready to help.

It is truly an honor to regularly be a part of a community that cares so much. On Friday, we held our 21st Straight Shot Sporting Clay Event. It was another magnificent gathering of people from all over the country who get together every year to help the five community-based programs of Ability Connection Colorado. Our intrepid photographer and graphic designer has posted the moments he captured. Referrals for the INCLUDE Program are now open!

INCLUDE assists eligible Denver residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) who face homelessness or housing instability. We connect individuals with vital resources like housing navigation, benefits coordination, Medicaid waivers, and long-term community support.

Did you know? Anyone can refer someone to the INCLUDE Program. Whether you're an individual seeking help, a family member, caregiver, case manager, or community partner, you can reach out.
