Chelsea Place Memory Care

Chelsea Place Memory Care Chelsea Place Memory Care in Aurora, Colorado, provides specialized care for individuals with dementia-related memory loss.

Our community offers a supportive and compassionate environment designed to meet the unique needs of memory care residents. At Chelsea Place we are known for encouraging a high level of social interaction within and outside our community. We do this because we know that interaction is so important to helping people with cognitive impairment reconnect with themselves, their family members, and with everyone around them. We give special focus to intergenerational interaction opportunities through regular visits to the local elementary school. These visits often stir memories that residents will share with children. There is always much laughter and joy, from young and old. But calm, rejuvenating interactions are also important. And we take our residents to enjoy regular walks at nearby Cherry Creek Park and Reservoir where they can stop to smell the flowers in bloom and experience the changing seasons.

We made salt dough autumn themed ornaments. They take two days to air dry and then we'll paint them and hang them up. We added pumpkin and apple c***r essential oils to make them smell like fall which gave the residents a wonderful sensory experience as we smelled all the oils and picked out our favorites.

As summer nears its end and fall approaches, we took the opportunity to have our residents decorate the building with autumn decorations. They had a great time, and we had fun reminiscing on fall drives, c***r recipes and pumpkin farms.

One of the greatest benefits of bunny therapy is emotional connection. Residents may experience feelings of happiness, comfort, and companionship while petting or holding a rabbit. For individuals who may sometimes struggle to communicate with words, interacting with an animal can provide another way to express emotions and connect with those around them.

Learning something new isn’t just rewarding; it can help keep the aging brain engaged.
