I recently created this little resource for a client who is also an artist, and I found myself thinking that it might be helpful for other creative people, too.

It is a simple daily practice for noticing the things that support us: gratitude, coping skills, moments of resilience, creativity and self-care, and a kind word to ourselves.

I intentionally made it feel more like a little art journal page than a traditional worksheet. There is even space to draw, paint, doodle, or simply leave blank.

You don't have to do all of it every day. You don't have to have a perfect day. Sometimes resilience looks like noticing one small thing that helped you get through it.

If this speaks to you, save the image and use it whenever you need a little reminder to pause, notice, nurture, create, and believe in yourself. 💛

🙏Hope doesn't ask you to see the entire path.

It simply asks you to believe the next step is worth taking.

One breath.

One choice.

One step.

Sometimes that's enough.

You don't have to apologize for the ways you survived.

Many coping strategies once protected you.

Healing begins when we recognize that what helped us survive yesterday may no longer serve us today.

That realization isn't failure.

It's growth.

A question I've been thinking about this week:

❓What if healing isn't about becoming someone new?

❓What if it's about remembering the parts of yourself that survival asked you to hide?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Today's gentle reminder:

Ask yourself,

"What is one small thing I can do today that my future self will thank me for?"

Your answer doesn't have to be life changing.

Drink some water.

Take a walk.

Rest.

Reach out to someone.

Small steps often create meaningful change.

Trauma can make hope feel unsafe.

If you've experienced repeated disappointment, instability, or loss, your nervous system may learn that expecting good things is risky.

That's not pessimism.

It's protection.

Healing isn't about forcing optimism.

It's about helping your nervous system experience enough safety that hope slowly becomes possible again.

Hope isn't something you have to manufacture.

Sometimes it's something you gently rediscover.

🍃 The August edition of The Inner Lens has arrived!

August often feels like a season of transition. As summer begins to wind down, many of us find ourselves reflecting on where we've been, where we're going, and what we need most right now.

This month's newsletter explores Realistic Hope and Emotional Resilience and offers a gentle reminder that hope doesn't require certainty or constant positivity. Sometimes hope is simply believing that today's circumstances are not the end of your story.

Inside this month's issue you'll find:
• A grounding practice
• Reflection questions
• A journal prompt
• A resilience tool
• My newest blog, Holding Hope Without Forcing Positivity
• Information about the upcoming Returning to Yourself workshop

I hope this month's reflections meet you wherever you are.

Until next month, go gently with yourself.

Returning to Yourself — July Workshop

I’m offering Returning to Yourself again later this month, and I’m really looking forward to holding this space. This workshop explores emotional over‑responsibility, self‑abandonment, people‑pleasing, and the patterns that lead us to lose ourselves in relationships or in the roles we carry.

It’s a non‑clinical, educational space designed for adults who want to reconnect with themselves in a supportive, reflective environment.

If this resonates with you — or with someone in your life — here’s the registration link:

When was the last time you intentionally took care of yourself?

Many women spend so much of their lives caring for everyone else that they lose touch with their own needs. This workshop is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and leave with practical tools to support your well-being.

Returning to Yourself is a live, virtual workshop taking place on Tuesday, July 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM ET.

Registration is $70.

If you'd like to join us, email [email protected] to register or ask questions.

I'd love to have you there. 💚
