Michael Allen Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 30th, 2026, at the age of 68.

Michael was born on October 2nd, 1957, at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, Georgia, to Clifford Brown and Barbara Stevens Brown. He grew up on Wanda Circle in the Marietta-Smyrna area and attended Milford Elementary School, Osborne Junior High School, Osborne High School, and Wills High School in his senior year.

Michael was a hard-working man who took great pride in working with his hands. In 1985, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and started his own business, BOSS, INC (Brown's Office Special Service), specializing in the restoration and repair of office Furniture. His talent, determination, and willingness to work hard were a reflection of the man he was--dependable, capable, and never afraid to get his hands dirty.

Outside of work, Michael enjoyed many things, but few brought him as much happiness as staying active, lifting weights, and spending time with his animals. He loved raising dogs, cats, Potbelly pigs, and even Wild rabbits. He had a special way with animals and enjoyed caring for them. His greatest passion was simply working with his hands and staying busy. He also loved his trips to Panama City Beach, where he could relax, enjoy the beach, and make memories with those he loved.

Michael was a proud Georgia Bulldogs fan, and one of his favorite sayings was, "Go Dawgs!" His love for the Georgia...

Sharon was born on October 28, 1952, in Atlanta, GA, to James and Emeline Bruton. She graduated from Pebblebrook High School and attended Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, GA, for a brief time. Always a free spirit, Sharon felt that college life was not for her and began what would become a long and successful career in hospitality sales and marketing with hotels throughout the Atlanta area. Her attention to detail, ability to wear many hats, and genuine gift for never meeting a stranger served her well in a career she truly enjoyed.

When friends planted the seed for Sharon to join them in Bradenton, FL, the opportunity to live near the beach sounded like the perfect plan. She and her daughter, Jamie, embraced their years in Florida, with Jamie playing sports and Sharon working for the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she remained for many years. Sharon loved her work, the people she met, and the Florida life she and Jamie shared.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jamie Kingston, and her parents, James and Emeline Bruton.

In Loving Memory of Jack A. Slayton

Jack A. Slayton, 94, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, friendships, service, and countless acts of kindness.

Jack A. Slayton was blessed with 94 years of good health and tireless energy, allowing him to live every day to its fullest. He was a man who could fix almost anything. If a car wouldn’t run, a repair needed to be made around the house, a boat needed painting, or something simply wasn’t working the way it should, he was the person people turned to. He had a remarkable ability to figure things out and the willingness to put that ability to work for others and to teach it all to the generations that came after him.

He was a dedicated caregiver throughout his entire life, caring for his mother, father, brother, and aunts, putting their needs before his own. He gave his time, his strength, and his love freely, reliably, and without fail. Caring for others was not simply something he did—it reflected the kind of man he was.

He loved boating and spending time on Lake Allatoona, where he could relax, and make memories with the people he loved. Those who shared those days with him will remember the laughter, stories, and good times that made the lake a special place. When summer wrapped up, you could find him at the North Georgia State Fair volunteering his time by driving children on hayrides, filling goodie bags, running the carousel, and keeping his fellow...

Franklin "Frank" Arthur Hiott, 71, of Mableton, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2026. He was born on November 29, 1954, to Roy and Ollie Hiott in Anderson, South Carolina. Frank was a graduate of Palmetto High School and earned a Bachelor of Science from Limestone College.

Frank built a distinguished career as an enterprise-wide software consultant, earning a reputation for sharp insight, integrity, and an ability to make everyone in the room feel valued. Over the years his work took him to companies including SAP, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, Amoco, and Service Star. He was well-regarded for his project management skills in SAP software implementations worldwide, and he was certified in Project Management, Warehouse Management, Data Management, and Plant Maintenance.

Frank's success came not simply from knowing the product, but from knowing the people who would be impacted by it. His sincerity in reaching out to others and understanding their needs in the workplace was exceptional. Frank went out of his way to acknowledge everyone who worked for him and to recognize them, even as he himself was recognized for his own exceptional work.

Frank was full of mirth and mischief. He did not care for board games, but he loved his family, golfing, fishing, trading stocks, listening to music, his dog Dolly, and the Atlanta Braves. He loved traveling up to Cherokee, and some of his truest joys were found in the mountains. He felt most at peace...
