Grateful for the opportunity to present a few weeks ago at the National Association of Social Workers' annual conference in Washington, DC with Monica Romo of Girasol Texas. 💛

It was a privilege to be in conversation with a room full of Social Workers who are committed to supporting their communities while navigating the realities of this work. There was so much wisdom, thoughtfulness, and passion in the room. The discussion was rich and I left feeling moved by the care, insight, and dedication in the room.

We spend so much energy trying to get rid of difficult emotions. What if the goal isn't to feel better all the time, but to create a life that's bigger than those feelings?

The way your body braces in conflict is information, not failure.

The tightening of anger, fear, and defensiveness isn't random. It may point to places that still need healing, tell you something important about the dynamics in the conflict, or show you what matters deeply to you.

Your nervous system is communicating, not betraying you. 💫

Caring shouldn't leave you completely depleted.

Pause. Breathe. Check in.
What do you need 5% more of right now?

Let that answer matter.
Because real care includes you 💛

There’s a story behind the name Lime Tree Therapy. 🍃

The day I decided to officially launch my practice, I walked into my backyard and noticed a small lime just starting to bud on my tree. I hadn’t seen it before. The timing caught me off guard in a way that felt meaningful, like something quietly beginning at the same moment I was choosing to begin, too.

I think a lot about what it means to be rooted. Trees hold their ground through changing conditions, growing in ways we don’t always see right away. That kind of steady, grounded presence is something I come back to often in my work. As a restorative justice healing circle facilitator, I'm also drawn to that which is circular. The shape of the fruit, the cycles we move through, the way we return to ourselves and to each other over time.

Limes are sharp, sour, not always what people reach for first. But sour doesn’t mean bad. It can be transformed into something rich, something that brings everything else into balance. In my office, we make space for all of it. The sour, the painful, the tender, the sweet. None of it stands alone, and none of it is unwelcome.

These photos feel like part of that story: a beginning, a first fruit, and something made with care. 🍋‍🟩 🌿

I'm re-reading Braiding Sweetgrass and thinking a lot about reciprocity. 📚

So many of my clients are trying to navigate relationships that feel one-sided or draining, and it makes sense in a world that turns everything into a transaction and leaves people burnt out.

In our work, we slow things down and start to notice what feels like connection and reciprocity in their bodies versus exchanges that deplete. Trying to move toward something more mutual, more human.

Still learning this alongside them. 💫

It doesn't have to be done perfectly.
It’s about giving yourself somewhere to land when things feel like too much.

A small anchor can be enough. 💛

Pain isn’t the problem. What we do when it shows up is what shapes what comes next.

Learning to pause, feel, and notice can open up choice. 🌿

Hello and welcome! This account has been quiet for a long time, and I’m going to start sharing a bit more intentionally. I’ll be posting reflections and simple practices to support you in staying connected to your body, your relationships, and what you care about. I’m glad you’re here!
