Coming out of a very hot Austin summer, I’ve been seeing a lot of what we jokingly call “refrigerator syndrome” 🧊
It makes sense > when it’s 100 degrees outside, we’re eating and drinking all the cold things. But after months of that, some people start to notice their digestion feeling a little off.
The interesting part is that in Chinese medicine, too much Cold can eventually lead to stagnation, and stagnation can create Heat! so we can actually end up with a mix of both.
Fall is a good time to start bringing some warmth back in, especially in the morning. Warm breakfast, ginger tea, broth soups, cooked foods... nothing crazy, just a little more balance. 🤍
And if any of this is really bothering you, come see me acupuncture + herbs can help us work with the actual pattern that’s going on.
