Language development doesn’t only happen during structured activities.

It often grows through small, shared moments—talking through what you’re doing, offering simple phrases, using visuals, and noticing your child’s efforts.

These interactions create a sense of connection and support, which helps language feel more accessible over time.

There isn’t one “right” way to do it. It’s about finding what fits naturally into your day and following your child’s lead.

If you’d like more guidance on how to support your child’s communication in a way that feels manageable and aligned with their needs, reach out to schedule a consultation.

It’s natural to wonder how your child’s communication is developing around this age.

Between 19–24 months, many children begin to use more words, combine simple phrases, and engage more with the people around them. At the same time, every child moves through this stage in their own way and at their own pace.

Milestones can be helpful as a general guide — not as a measure of pressure, but as a way to notice patterns and understand what might be emerging.

If you’re finding yourself wondering whether your child’s communication is unfolding as expected, that curiosity is worth paying attention to.

Early support doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Often, it simply provides clarity and helps make everyday communication feel a little easier.

If you have questions or want to better understand your child’s speech and language development, reach out to schedule a consultation. We’re here to help you think it through and explore what support might look like.

Communication doesn’t happen in isolation.

It’s shaped by how the body feels, how the nervous system responds, and how safe a child feels to engage, express, and connect.

At Inside Out, we look beyond speech sounds. We consider the whole picture — language, regulation, social connection, and how the body supports communication from the inside out.

Because when a child feels supported within their system, communication often becomes more accessible and more meaningful.

If you’re looking for an approach that considers both communication and the nervous system, reach out to schedule a consultation. We’re here to help you understand what support might look like for your child.

Speech-language pathology is about so much more than speech.

It’s about connection, understanding, and helping people feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their everyday lives.

The work often happens in small moments—a word, a gesture, a shared interaction—but those moments carry a lot of meaning for the individuals and families we support.

It’s a field that continues to grow and evolve, shaped by relationships, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of how communication and the body work together.

If you’ve been wondering what speech therapy could look like for you or your child, reach out to schedule a consultation. We’re here to help you explore what support might look like.

When a child isn’t talking as much as expected, it can bring up a lot of questions.

Some children are “late talkers”—they understand language, engage, and connect, but use fewer words. Others may show differences in understanding, play, or social engagement that tell us something more is going on.

Looking at the full picture matters.

Things like how your child responds to language, how they play, and how they connect with others can give us helpful insight into their communication development.

It’s not about labeling. It’s about understanding.

And sometimes, that understanding can bring a lot of clarity and relief.

If you’re unsure whether your child is a late talker or may need additional support, reach out to schedule a consultation.

We’re here to help you think it through and understand what next steps might look like.

Speech therapy isn’t just about talking.

While speech sounds are one piece, communication is much broader. It includes how a child understands language, expresses their needs, connects with others, and even how their body supports feeding and swallowing.

These areas are all interconnected. When one part feels harder, it can affect how a child participates, engages, and connects in everyday life.

Support is about looking at the whole picture—not just isolated skills—and helping things feel more accessible and manageable over time.

If your child is having difficulty with communication, connection, or feeding, reach out to schedule a consultation.

We’re here to help you understand what’s going on and what support might look like.

“Wait and see” is something many parents hear.

And sometimes, it comes from a place of reassurance. But when something feels uncertain, waiting can also bring more questions.

Early development doesn’t pause. And when language feels harder for a child, the gap doesn’t always stay the same over time.

An evaluation isn’t about labeling or rushing into therapy. It’s about understanding how your child is communicating, learning, and interacting — and giving you clarity around what might be helpful.

Sometimes that clarity brings reassurance. Sometimes it offers direction. Either way, it helps you move forward with more confidence.

You know your child best. If something has been on your mind, it’s okay to explore it.

If you’ve been told to “wait and see” but still feel unsure, reach out to schedule a consultation. We’re here to help you think it through and understand what support might look like.

Breathing is something we don’t often think about — but it plays a big role in how the body functions.

Nasal breathing helps support better oxygen flow, more stable sleep, and coordination of the muscles used for speech and swallowing. When breathing patterns shift, other systems can start working harder to compensate.

This can show up in ways that aren’t always obvious at first, like mouth breathing, fatigue, or changes in how communication feels.

Sometimes small patterns give us helpful information about the bigger picture.

If you’re noticing changes in breathing, sleep, or communication for you or your child, reach out to schedule a consultation. We’re happy to help you understand what might be going on and what support could look like.
