It has been a very heavy weekend for our community. Two young lives were taken in an act of violence that has shaken so many of us. One was a Longhorn. One was a Red Raider from Austin. Both were someone’s child. Someone’s best friend. Someone who was just getting started.

Many of you are grieving. Some of you are angry. Some feel anxious, unsettled, or simply numb. All of those reactions are normal after something traumatic. There is no “right” way to feel right now.

If you were there, if you knew them, or even if you are just feeling the weight of it all, please know that support is available. You do not have to carry this alone. Reaching out is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign that you are human.

Longhorns look after each other. Check in on your friends. Walk together. Sit together. Send the text. Ask the simple question, “Are you okay?” Small moments of connection matter.

For UT students, confidential support is available 24/7 through the UT Crisis Line at 512-471-2255 and TimelyCare. Student Outreach and Support can be reached at 512-471-5017. The Counseling and Mental Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. BCAL, the Behavior Concerns Advice Line, is available 24/7 at 512-232-5050. **In any emergency, call 911 immediately.**

For students, the Texas Tech Crisis HelpLine is available 24/7 at 806-742-5555. We are holding the Texas Tech community in our hearts.❤️

If you are struggling, please reach out. If you are steady enough to support someone else, lean in. We will get through this by taking care of one another. 🧡

OCD isn’t quirky or cute.
It’s intrusive, exhausting, and sometimes terrifying.

But it’s also treatable.
And healing is possible.

If you’re fighting thoughts that don’t feel like you… you’re not alone. 💚

💚Starting mental health care can feel intimidating.

If you’ve ever wondered what a first visit with a psychiatric nurse practitioner is like — it’s not scary, clinical, or high-pressure here.

It’s calm.
It’s collaborative.
It’s a conversation.

You don’t have to have the perfect words. You don’t have to be “sure” about medication. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

We go at your pace.

If you’ve been putting this off, consider this your gentle sign. 🤍
