Hello!
June is Migraine and Headache Awareness Month, so I wanted to let everyone know about a special fundraising event that VHC is hosting to raise awareness.
Did you know:
-Migraine affects 1 in 4 households?
-Headache disorders cost the US economy $78 billion in lost productivity and 157 million work days per year?
-There is only 1 headache specialist for every 44,000 patients in the US? A typical physician can manage only 2000-3000 patients max!
From June 13 to June 28, 2026, thousands of purple flags will stand in Washington, D.C. as a public demand for action on migraine and headache disorders. Each flag represents approximately 1,500 people living with these conditions in the United States. Pop-up installations and events are taking place in communities across the country throughout the month of June.
Consider joining our team! We're hoping to raise at least $1000 by May 15 to plant a whole bunch of flags and show Washington that Austinites and other folks in Texas care about migraine and headache patients. Any amount helps. Donate here:
