Around this time three months ago, my daddy was finally coming home from being in the ICU for two weeks. All he wanted was to come home.
He got his wish. And we were all there with him. All his girls together. He waited until then to let go and free himself from his illness He took his last breath in the early morning hours....at home, like he wanted.
Miss you so much daddy. Love you always.

My dad has his funeral policy done and paid for. I don't know how we could've made all those decisions in the mental state we were in.

It's time like these, that I'm grateful I can help people get their final wishes in order. Ask me how we can get yours done and take that burden off your loved ones when they're the most vulnerable.

For my dad's funeral, we opted to do flowers ourselves and personalize them by adding ribbon in John Deere colors. He collected stuff - from light switches to signs to metal toy replicas We made pieces for the pall bearers, special family ribbons and then green/yellow for those attending. It was a simple, yet memorable and colorful way to honor him.
What have you seen done at funerals to make them more personable?

It's okay to grieve.

It's okay to grieve.

The field is pale and endless,
flowers barely rising through the mist.
I sit with my back turned to the world,
watching a single bird cut across the sky.

The balloon above me tugs upward,
its red louder than anything else here.
I don’t chase it.
I just let it hover, like a question.

People keep asking how I’m doing.
I say I’m managing.
I say I’m fine enough.
But the truth sits heavy in my lap.

No, I am not okay.
Not in the quiet hours before morning.
Not when I turn to share something
and remember there’s no one beside me.

The flowers don’t bloom brighter for my sake.
The sky doesn’t lean closer.
Everything feels gently indifferent,
soft but unmoved.

I miss you in small, stubborn ways—
in the empty chair across the table,
in the second cup I still almost pour.

The bird disappears into the clouds.
The balloon keeps floating above me.
And I sit here, honest at last.

Is so sad that we are so divided

My aunt died from an incredibly aggressive cancer on Sunday. She only began showing symptoms in November.

The last 3 months she endured horrendous pain and she finally let go.

We hardly spoke or saw each other the past 8 years because hard feelings about politics and January 6th kept us apart.

Of course none of that matters now. We were close when I was growing up, and I wish I could have seen her before she passed to heal the break. We did not think she would lose this battle, and we certainly didn’t know it could happen so fast.

I hate what politics has done to us. I hate it. I simply hate it.

Tears are rolling down my cheeks on this airplane as I write this.

Love and prayers for my Aunt Janene and her suffering family now, please.

I was raised to do this and still will pull over when I can do so safely. It shows respect. As someone that just went through losing my father and had people pulling over and even saluting as we drove to the cemetery- it is very emotional and greatly appreciated.

It's . Sending love and light to all those who have lost friends and loved ones to this horrible monster disease. To those still fighting, I send you strength and hope fellow warriors. I've personally gone through it and at times, have survivors guilt. But then I remember that everything happens for a reason and my purpose is to bring awareness to colon cancer.
Please, get your annual exams. It could save your life.
