Let's start the morning off with a little bit of wisdom. 🧠 TNS member Dr. Gloria Simms shares advice for new neuro residents.

What is one practical tip that helped you succeed during residency? Mindful practices, living with a purpose in mind, discipline and finding joy in and out of the residency program.

What do you wish you knew on your first day of residency?
Mastering knowledge takes time, practice and discipline. Concept of mentorship and sponsors; and finding them early.

What advice would you give residents about taking care of themselves during training? Decompress daily with physical and mental exercises. Don't underestimate, good nutrition and proper hydration: plan ahead of time.

What is one practical tip that helped you succeed during residency? One of my senior residents told me, on a busy call night: Acceptance is the most helpful step right now to move forward with patient care tonight.

What advice would you give residents about taking care of themselves during training? Wellness is something different to every person, individually. Be curious about what it means to you, explore new things.
