Back-to-school is coming, and it may be time to reset your teen’s sleep schedule! 😴📚

Our pediatric sleep neurologist, Dr. Carey Lockhart, shares two simple tips to get started:

🌙 Move bedtime and wake-up time earlier — gradually shift both by 15–30 minutes every few days.

📱 Set a media curfew — give screens a consistent bedtime so your teen has time to wind down.

A few small changes now can make the transition back to school a little easier!

🌙 Please welcome, Dr. Carey Lockhart, our newest child neurologist and sleep medicine specialist! We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Lockhart to CN&CA, where she will lead our Sleep Center and bring specialized sleep care to CN&CA!

With expertise in both child neurology and sleep medicine, Dr. Lockhart is passionate about helping families navigate sleep and neurologic conditions that can affect everything from learning and behavior to mood and overall well-being.

Our Headache School Forms Event was a wonderful success!

Thank you to all the families who joined us as we got everyone ready for the new school year. It was so much fun seeing kids make affirmation bracelets, learn headache exercises with physical therapist - Chris, explore the Cefaly device, and take home a sticker reminder from Dr. Patel & Dr. Elton to "Drink your water!"

We're grateful for the opportunity to connect with our families, answer questions, complete school forms, and help students head back to school feeling prepared and supported. Wishing everyone a healthy, successful school year! 📚

The Epilepsy Foundation's Teens Speak Up! & Public Policy Institute gives teens the chance to build leadership skills, connect with other young people who understand their journey, and advocate for the epilepsy community on Capitol Hill. Participants also complete a Year of Service to create positive change in their own communities.
