Pride Month is a celebration of authenticity, courage, and the right to be seen and valued for who you are.

At Onyx Counseling & Wellness Center, we believe that everyone deserves a safe space to explore their identity, heal from life's challenges, and show up as their authentic self without fear of judgment. We are committed to creating an affirming, inclusive environment where all individuals feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.

This month, we honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community while recognizing that mental health care should be accessible, affirming, and compassionate for all.

You are worthy. You belong. Your story matters. 🏳️‍🌈💜

Mindfulness is not just doing one thing and being done. It's a practice. Something done everyday, throughout the day, with intention.

So if it requires daily practice, what are some ways to implement it into your schedule? Life can be hard enough without adding 'one more thing', right?

Well, here are a few easy, quick and simple ways to practice mindfulness throughout the day. These suggestions only take a few minutes or moments at a time.

Putting your toolkit into practice will help your body learn how to use it everyday. It will become second nature, something you automatically reach for when needed.

We hope these suggestions help you learn mindfulness and maybe make it into your own practice.

What are some other tools you use??

Do you need sessions that fit your schedule? Do traditional 50 minute sessions every week not work for you?

Onyx Counseling and Wellness Center understands that sometimes the traditional approach is not always the best. That is why we offer therapy intensives and extended sessions. We understand that scheduling therapy within an already busy schedule can feel daunting, and maybe hold you back from getting the help you need.

This is why we offer sessions that are 1 hour- 4 hours+ to help you get more out of your therapy session, so you don't have to come every week or you move through processing on a faster timeline than traditional 50 minute weekly sessions would allow.

All our therapists offer either intensives, extended sessions or both. And all our therapists offer FREE 15-20 minute video consultations to determine fit.

If you are tired of waiting and are ready to move towards your goals, then reach out and schedule a consultation today!

Leaving a narcissistic abuse relationship isn’t just “walking away.”

It’s untangling confusion, breaking trauma bonds, and choosing yourself—sometimes for the first time in a long time.

You might still feel guilt. You might miss them. You might question if it was “really that bad.”

That doesn’t mean you made the wrong decision—it means the impact was real.

Healing isn’t about going back for closure.

It’s about creating safety within yourself, rebuilding trust in your own voice, and learning that love should never cost you your sense of self.

If you left… or you’re thinking about it… you’re not alone. And you’re not crazy.

You’re not “too sensitive.”

You’re responding exactly how your nervous system was trained to survive.

EMDR therapy helps your brain update those old danger signals—so you can feel safe in the present, not stuck in the past.

Clients often say:
“I know I’m safe now… but it doesn’t feel like it.”

That’s not a mindset issue.

That’s unprocessed trauma.

EMDR helps close the gap between what you know and what you feel.

💛 You deserve both.

EMDR doesn’t ask you to “just talk about it.”

It helps your brain reprocess what got stuck.

If you’ve ever felt like you understand your trauma logically—but your body still reacts like it’s happening right now… that’s where EMDR can help.

You don’t have to relive everything to heal it.

Your brain already knows how to heal—we just help it get unstuck.

✨ Especially powerful for:
• Complex trauma
• Narcissistic abuse
• Grief that won’t fully move through

Healing doesn’t have to feel like suffering.
