No more “I don’t think I can come tonight.”

Five years ago, this would have ended my day.

A sharp pain showing up in my hip out of nowhere → I would have spent the whole morning replaying every workout I did that week trying to figure out which one hurt me. Maybe I slept wrong. Maybe I didn’t walk enough. Maybe this time it’s actually something serious. What did I eat that’s inflammatory?

And here’s what most people don’t realize → that spiral itself makes the pain worse.

When you have a chronic pain pattern that’s nervous-system based, asking your body “what’s wrong with you?” over and over is a threat signal. Your nervous system, already on high alert, turns the volume up to make sure you pay attention. The pain gets louder. Stays longer. And you become more certain something is wrong.
That’s the loop.

Here’s what I did instead →

I noticed the pain. I checked the evidence → no acute injury, no fall, no specific movement. Just showed up overnight. That’s not acute pain. That’s a chronic pain pattern.

And chronic pain patterns aren’t telling me my body is damaged → they’re telling me my nervous system needs connection.

So I gave it connection. I talked to my body. Told it we were safe and we were going to have a fun day and just ‘brought the pain with me’ which reduced the intensity… because I know there is not threat

Then I put a backpack on and hiked 4 miles to play with friends

By the end of the day → the pain had quieted. Not because I powered through. Because I didn’t add fear to a body that was just asking for connection.

Just like these women, I spent 15 years I tried to manage my body.

I tried every protocol, every supplement, every specialist, every diet, every nervous system tool that made the rounds online. And some did help…. I’m not saying don’t do it BUT None of it got me to the bottom of it.

I’d have weeks where I’d think “okay, maybe this is it” and then I’d crash again. Or flare again. Or wake up one morning and feel my body bracing for a day I hadn’t even started yet.

What finally changed everything wasn’t another protocol. It was understanding what my body had been doing the whole time.
That my nervous system had been stuck on high alert for years. 

That the symptoms weren’t random, they were my body’s best attempt to keep me safe. That I wasn’t broken. And that I could actually heal.

Once I had that, I had something to work with so I built a 5-phase process for the people I work with that walks them through the same thing: 

->Recognize, Rewire, Regulate, Integrate, Reclaim.
