๐ŸŽฅ Video Testimonial Deadline Extended!!

Your story matters โ€” and this is your opportunity to make sure your unique voice and experience are heard at the Texas Capitol.
Weโ€™re extending the deadline for PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day video submissions to Tuesday, September 15 to give more families, practitioners and advocates time to participate.
Whether you want to share hope, the realities of living with PANS/PANDAS, what youโ€™ve learned, or what you want policymakers and healthcare professionals to understand โ€” your perspective matters. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ“ฑ Videos should be 2 minutes or less, recorded in landscape format.
๐Ÿ“… New deadline: September 15

Help us bring the voices of the PANS/PANDAS community to the Capitol. Please consider sharing yours.

Your voice matters โ€” and your legislators need to hear from you. ๐Ÿ’š

As we prepare for the 4th Annual PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day at the Texas Capitol on October 9, weโ€™re asking families and supporters across Texas to personally invite their state legislators and staff to attend.

These invitations matter. Legislators are more likely to understand the urgency of PANS & PANDAS when they hear directly from the families and communities they represent.

This year, two important legislative efforts are already taking shape:
๐Ÿ’š An insurance bill aimed at improving access to needed PANS/PANDAS care
๐Ÿ’š An effort to pursue continuing medical education requirements for certain Texas healthcare practitioners - to broaden the base of professionals who recognize neuroimmune conditions

The more legislators who hear from constituents โ€” and the more who attend and learn firsthand โ€” the stronger our advocacy becomes.

Weโ€™ve made it easy to participate with ready-to-use letter and phone templates you can personalize and send to your legislators, as well as a day-of schedule with registration links for any legislators or staff who would like to come for lunch and hear more of the program.
Additionally, you can share an important write-up by ASPIRE: The Alliance to Solve PANS and Immune Related Encephalopathies on the cost of inaction, linked below, that discusses the consequences of lack of access to appropriate care.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Templates and schedule are available here:

Please take a few minutes to reach out, invite your legislators, and help us bring PANS & PANDAS awareness directly to the Capitol.

Every call. Every email. Every invitation matters. ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’š A bigger space for a growing community!
Weโ€™re excited to share a first look at the space where weโ€™ll gather for our 2026 PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day at the Texas Capitol on October 9.
As attendance has grown, so has our need for a space that offers more room to connect โ€” and this year, weโ€™ll have it.

Our expanded Capitol meeting space will give us room for:
โ€ขOur Expert Practitioner Q&A
โ€ขBoxed lunches for attendees
โ€ขA spacious Practitioner & Family Resource Showcase
โ€ขMore room for families to visit, connect and spend time together
โ€ขA separate kids room where children can take a break, relax and enjoy time with other kids

We are especially grateful to be able to create a more comfortable, welcoming environment for families this year.
We canโ€™t wait to fill this space with conversation, connection, advocacy and community. ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŽฅ Share Hope. Share Reality. Inspire Change. ๐ŸŽฅ

Weโ€™re inviting families, practitioners, and advocates to submit a short video for our 2026 PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day at the Texas Capitol. In place of live personal testimonies, selected clips will be compiled into a video montage to help bring real voices and experiences to the Capitol and beyond.

Wondering what to share?

โ€ข Give hope โ€” share progress, healing, support, or something you wish other families knew.

โ€ข Share the reality โ€” describe a challenge your child or family has faced and why greater awareness matters.

โ€ข Call for change โ€” tell policymakers, practitioners, and advocates what you hope can improve in awareness, diagnosis, treatment, education, insurance coverage, or family support.

โ€ข Share what youโ€™ve learned โ€” offer something you wish you had known earlier in your PANS/PANDAS journey.

There is no โ€œrightโ€ story to tell. Choose the message that feels most important to you right now and speak from the heart. ๐Ÿ’š

Your audience includes fellow PANS/PANDAS families, advocates, policymakers, and practitioners.

A few simple guidelines:
๐Ÿ“ฑ Turn your phone sideways and record in landscape (16:9)
โฑ๏ธ Keep your video to 2 minutes or less
๐Ÿ“… Submit by September 13

Registration is OPEN for the 2026 PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day at the Capitol!

We are excited to invite you to the 4th Annual PANS & PANDAS Awareness Day at the Texas Capitol on Friday, October 9th for a day of hope, connection and advocacy!

This yearโ€™s word is UNITEDโ€”because when families, professionals, and advocates come together, our voices are stronger and hope grows.

The program features a one hour Q&A session with a panel of expert healthcare practitioners from across the state. In addition, there will be a breakout time with opportunities to meet practitioners and other professionals serving the PANS & PANDAS community.

With our growing attendance, we are pleased to be moving into a larger meeting space (the Extension Legislative Conference Center) at the Capitol this year. The expanded space will allow us to provide lunch and a kids activity area, where children can take a break and spend time together. The small registration fee will help offset these additional costs and keep the event as affordable and accessible as possible for families.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ In addition to the Capitol event on October 9th, there will be a casual dinner the night before at the delicious Chez Zee Bistro.
Registration for both Awareness Day and our optional dinner the evening before is available through the same registration link. You can register for either or both now, and return later to add additional tickets as desired. The deadline to register is September 28th.

Register here:

๐ŸŽฅ To better honor everyone's time and ensure each family's story can be shared thoughtfully, we will not have live personal testimonies during the event. Instead, families will have the opportunity to submit a short video testimony that may be included in a video compilation shown at the Capitol. Be on the lookout for additional information about how to submit your video testimony.

We are pleased to highlight a wonderful resource for our PANS/PANDAS Community:

๐Ÿ’š MAPS ๐Ÿ’š

The Medical Academy of Pediatrics & Special Needs (MAPS) provides education for healthcare professionals caring for children with complex medical and neurodevelopmental conditions, including PANS and PANDAS. They offer many helpful tools including a clinician directory, podcasts, blogs and more.

MAPS is also hosting its second *Parent Conference* this September, with both in-person and virtual attendance options. The conference includes education on topics relevant to many families in our community, including PANS/PANDAS, mold, Lyme disease, mitochondrial dysfunction, cerebral folate deficiency, testing, and more.
