Are you struggling with sleep apnea but can’t use a CPAP machine? You don’t have to settle for poor sleep.

ARC is proud to be the first healthcare organization in Austin to offer Genio—an innovative, mask-free, battery-free treatment for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea. Placed through a single minimally invasive outpatient procedure, Genio gently stimulates the hypoglossal nerve to keep your airway open naturally while you sleep.

Not everyone with sleep apnea can tolerate a CPAP machine—but that doesn't mean you're out of options.

"CPAP remains the gold standard for treating obstructive sleep apnea, but successful treatment isn't one-size-fits-all," says Chen Wu, MD, Neurology at Austin Regional Clinic - ARC South Specialty.

"The goal isn't simply replacing a CPAP machine. It's finding the treatment that addresses the underlying cause of your sleep apnea," adds John (Caleb) Simmons, MD, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) at ARC South Specialty.

Learn about oral appliance therapy, lifestyle changes, hypoglossal nerve stimulation (Inspire and Genio), and how ARC ENT and Neurology specialists work to help you find the treatment that's right for you.

When Corinne’s seven-year-old son woke up with severe stomach pain and vomiting, she assumed he was experiencing a common stomach virus, but decided to consult a clinician using ARC’s NormanMD to be safe.

Corinne was instantly connected to Shirlene Samuel, DO, an ARC Pediatrician with NormanMD, who diagnosed Corinne's son with appendicitis. Corinne immediately rushed her son to the emergency room, where his appendix was safely removed.

“NormanMD helped save his life,” Corinne says.

Did you know ARC offers 24/7 on-demand virtual urgent care through NormanMD? Keep reading to hear Corinne's son's story and get connected to an ARC physician or advanced practice clinician from your smartphone, tablet, or computer: https://bit.ly/46mMw96

When Marissa’s baby Everett was eight weeks old, he was diagnosed with a hexokinase 1 mutation (HK1)—an ultra-rare neurodegenerative genetic condition found in less than 50 people across the world.

Marissa says ARC Pediatrician Carla Thompson, MD, FAAP, has been the perfect match for Everett’s medically complex case, providing coordinated, comprehensive health care.

This year, a lab in Austin began working to create a treatment designed specifically for Everett’s genetic condition.

The mortality rate for black women was 10.1 per 100,000 and 4.7 per 100,000 for white women. Previous estimates put the death rate of cervical cancer at 5.7 per 100,000 black women and 3.2 per 100,000 white women.
