Every year, ARC gathers a team to attend the Walk to Cure Arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation is fighting for all people who live with the chronic pain of arthritis and offers patient education and resources to help change the future of arthritis.

This year, our team, the "ARC Rockstars," placed second in the Austin area. ARC is grateful to have dedicated team members who take part in the community.

Hepatitis C and hepatitis B are both viral infections that cause liver inflammation, but they differ in their modes of transmission, treatment, and potential outcomes.

Hepatitis C is primarily transmitted through blood contact, particularly through sharing needles or blood transfusions before 1992, while hepatitis B is transmitted through contact with infected blood or bodily fluids.

Treatment or cure?
💛 Hepatitis C: Cure. There is no vaccine for hepatitis C, but there are medicines that work well to cure it.
❤️ Hepatitis B: Treatment. There is a vaccine for hepatitis B that works well but once you have the virus, it can't be completely cured.

Cervical cancer kills more women than initially thought, especially minority women, according to a recent study. In an interview KVUE, ARC Ob/Gyn Dr Alinda Cox says prevention is key. “Cervical cancer is highly preventable and highly treatable, if caught early.” Learn more here:

The mortality rate for black women was 10.1 per 100,000 and 4.7 per 100,000 for white women. Previous estimates put the death rate of cervical cancer at 5.7 per 100,000 black women and 3.2 per 100,000 white women.
