Groin and adductor strains have a frustrating habit of coming back — usually because athletes return the moment pain fades, before strength has recovered.

Repetitive kicking and cutting put real eccentric demand on those muscles, and rebuilding that strength takes more than rest. Soccer players are especially prone to this cycle, since every sprint and change of direction re-tests those same muscles before they're ready.

Rehab the whole muscle, not just the pain.

Soccer asks the body to sprint, cut, kick, and absorb contact all in the same game.

That's why the injury list is so long: ankle sprains, hamstring strains, groin strains, ACL injuries, even concussions. The groin strain is the one most specific to soccer, and the one athletes most often rush back from too soon.

If you're dealing with any of these, the right evaluation makes all the difference in how you recover.

Complete rest doesn't fix a training load problem, it just delays it.

At DSM, we build a real return-to-running plan: gait assessment, targeted treatment, and mileage progression that matches what your runner's body can handle.

From shin splints to stress fractures, distance running injuries almost always trace back to how quickly training load increased.

Knowing the patterns helps you catch problems early before they turn into a missed season.

Shin splints. IT band pain. Runner's knee. Most of these injuries show up because mileage or intensity increased faster than the body could adapt, not because of bad form or the wrong shoes.

Nagging pain that won't quit? The fix starts with understanding training load, not just resting and hoping.

One of the most overlooked drivers of shoulder impingement in volleyball players isn't hitting mechanics. It's scapular control. How well the shoulder blade stabilizes during high-volume hitting matters just as much as how hard the athlete swings.

Scapular stability assessment is built into every volleyball athlete's evaluation at DSM. Link in bio to book.

Volleyball puts repetitive stress on two joints in particular: the shoulder from hitting and serving, the knees from constant jumping and landing.

That combination is why shoulder impingement and patellar tendinopathy ("jumper's knee") show up so often in this sport.

The fix isn't less volleyball, it's smarter load management and the right treatment plan. Link in bio to book.

The athlete who gets a nagging injury checked out early usually gets back to sport faster than the one who plays through it.

If your young athlete has pain that's been hanging around for more than a week or two, it's time for a real evaluation, not more guessing.
